My expectations for the remaining games this season might be different to other fans but with the season being long gone for us and being served up so much dross I just want some value for money and entertainment and for the 2nd Sunday running I’m not disappointed. The team has a much better attitude in how they’re approaching the game. We are short on quality still but there’s not a lot we can do about that now this year. Normally the way we conceded so late would irritate me but the fact it came at a time when Steelers were winning it was good to have an influence on the title race staying tight and the fact that giants ended up gaining a point on them in the end was ideal. I've fancied the giants for a good few weeks but alot will depend who comes out stronger in their 5 game series

Ashfield Panther,Having said that only 3 out of 10 were scored in Sheffield tonight. Maybe. But Baillargeon on his breakaway never looked like missing. On his p/s he didn't look like scoring, nor did Bovin or Lane.

Got to be down to being indecisive and having too much time what they want to do with a PS .

In general, need to drive into the goal like they do on that breakaway. Not weave all over the shop. Imagine your in a game situation.

It says a lot that we’re pleased about a point against Belfast at home, but Keefe has built an excellent team, they’re easily the best in the league.
I thought it was foolish to put Baillargeon out there at the end (maybe looking to get his hat trick?) as I don’t think he’s the best defensively and he didn’t give the best coverage on their equalising goal, but despite that, the team did us proud.
I think it’s visible that Whistle has made an impact on the team, they’re playing with more energy and physicality, everybody’s battling and finishing their checks. We look to be a much harder team to play against. We’re still struggling to convert our chances still but we’re certainly taking care of our own end a lot better.
Baillargeon has scored 5 goals in the last 3 games, if he could have been more consistent with his scoring we might have been a bit higher up the table, he’s just a bit too streaky. I thought Norrish has been immense all weekend, blocked no end of shots, battled hard and got stuck in, he’s one player I’d like to see us keep hold of. The same with Richards, he’s very raw, plays with an edge, but his speed is frightening, it puts teams on the back foot.
I’m glad Carr got the motm award as well, he’s been solid all weekend, his stick save in the first was unbelievable as well.
If we see the same level of performance on Wednesday I’ll be happy.

Wasn't there, decided to work instead (Yes the previous games VS The Giants played a role in the decision)
Must admit, I wasn't expecting this, obviously not chasing the game early on helps but it certainly looks like Dave Whistle has played a part as well as having a full squad.
It also looks like we have improved defensively, just need to score more goals.
Them scoring with 0.4 left doesn't happen all the time, it's just one of those things.
Was not expecting a 3 point weekend.

Well bugger. 0.4sec from being correct on a Panthers win in regulation. If only, eh.
Good game and great performance considering how we have fared against belfast in the past. Did we deserve to win, hell yes, and thought that when we iced the puck on the empty net the linesman blew before the giant player had crossed the blue line, it was gouing to be icing and non of the Panthers had made an attempt to chase, but was that 0.5 of a second too early. Who knows, the result is in the books.
Win with a shut out on Saturday, an OT loss to a title chasing team on Sunday and there are few posts where is everyone, perhaps some are still waiting for Billy Goat Gruff to pass by.

Whats the thoughts on Hedberg? He really needs a goal and over these last 2 games he has missed two absolute sitters right in front of the goalie. He's very skillfull but he looks like a rabbit in headlights and I'm just a tad disappointed in him now.

The PS he took a game or two back was pretty poor in the end. Maybe needs a change of line? His highlight reel is pretty good, but that was all a few seasons back.

Couldn't agree more.. thing is when players sign for another certain club not far away they are sat down and told what is expected of them and if they fail to deliver they are gone... When a player signs in Nottingham there doesn't appear to be any of that with stats like these if he was in Cardiff or Sheffield he'd have been gone by now !

Looks like the signing deadline is gone, so he's here to stay this season.

Possibly the worst ever. Did we think he was going to do a Herr? He’s had ok goal scoring totals in better leagues than ours, last season 8 goals in 23 Allsvenskan games, the season before that 9 goals in 24 Liiga games. My concern when we signed him was how little he had produced at the start of this season in the Swedish 3rd division. The thing I find frustrating with him as he’s got speed, he carries the puck well, he’s even found him else in some good goal scoring positions, but he just doesn’t seem to have the confidence in his finishing. With Domingue returning, plus the other two lines playing well and looking settled, it’s going to be interesting to see who sits out.

Although Welsh has dropped off significantly. I wonder if he isn't 100% fit.

Hedberg has been playing mostly with Welsh, to be fair, and Boivin. Maybe they just don't suit each other? Boivin at least has a smattering of points in that timeframe, but a fair few are on the PP.

Not a single point for Tousi in his last 14 games… Personally I’d rather let Hedberg play and utilise his speed on the bigger ice surface. I agree about Welsh though, he’s not been as influential of late, we need a big performance from him on Wednesday.

Hedberg isn’t clicking with Welsh or Boivin at all, but like you say Welsh looks to be struggling. I’d put Domingue back with them, keep Lane’s line the same, put Hedberg with Myers and Ollie, then have Richards and Kelsall as part of the 4th line.

But then for all most seem to rate Domingue,he’s only put up 2+2 in 12 league games. Not great numbers for a supposed good sniper, but he’s done better in the cup.

Shame to sit Hedberg, now that he, Richards and Thow finally have their faces on the skate out video.

I don't think it is even a debate, i would not play Hedberg again this season when we have a fully fit roster. He brings nothing to the team, cant score doesn't get involved in the physical game and just looks generally lost. Even when they do the clapping at the end he looks very uninterested and not part of the team. One of the worst mid season signings we have ever made
