Devils are some way ahead in terms of games played - not that we'd have a hope in hell of winning all of those 4 games - but yes already needing a nine game swing with 27 left to tie up Sheffield is awful. I don't think Doucet will be sacked mid-season, not much point, but I'd expect him out the door in the summer as a first order of business. I have to agree I’m afraid. This season has been a disaster. We have to acknowledge injuries haven’t helped us and we did do well to bring in cover for the 3 injured players. However, again, the team didn’t look to be built correctly from the start and due to the circumstances with Covid it has been difficult to bring in players that improved the team like Talbot and Hansen did in 19/20 after poor initial recruitment. I recall before the season started that we were all waiting in anticipation for the final two imports and hoping that they were going to be two stars, the difference makers. They ended up being Myers and Baillargeon. If Myers was the 5th and final Brit I’d have been happy, however we already had our 5. With Baillargeon, he put up decent goals for MK but with his two year lay off from the pro game we knew he wasn’t going to be the impact player we needed. If we then look at Doucet’s decision to let Suoranta and Jokinen go, without having replacements guaranteed. The admission that we are spending up to the cap the same way as the other teams, but getting battered by them. The decision to sack a coach who had the support of the fans to save his own bacon. Letting a defender leave, whilst taking a compensation package, and then letting them team play short on defence for a minimum of 10 games. I don’t see how he hasn’t been sacked if I’m being honest. Agreed, except the bit about it’s been difficult to bring in players to improve the team. Where did Sheffield and Cardiff get Latal,Polak and Coughler from then…..out of a “lucky bag” ! And both their teams were much harder to improve on than Panthers pile of dross.

Suoranta And Wallace weren’t sacked. They saw the way things were going and jumped ship. Doucet will be gone shortly because he couldn’t buy a clue if I lent him the money.

0-0 after 1. Carozza has returned, no word I can see on whether Thow is now permanent still. Hedberg out as a "precaution". Hedberg as a precaution, well they kept that quiet in the earlier team news. So much for “lead sports therapist Laura Jo Bowler” or whatever she’s called ! 🙄 Why have you brought Laura-Jo into it?

I’ve never seen a team pushed off the puck so easily in the EIHL era. We don’t do well against big teams no matter how hard the team works.

Stop going and stop buying the overpriced tat. The only way to hurt Black is in the pocket. Ignore his cobblers about spending based on ticket sales, he's full of it.Where was the spending when the arena was sold out nearly every week? He's greedy and cheap and only employs yes men, look at the utter shambles the club actually is. On and of the ice is amateur and laughable. Horrible club that is insular, has a culture of secrecy and lacks any form of integrity.

Just as I’ve been telling people for years, but most either couldn’t see it or didn’t want to hear it. Now they realise Iggy was right all along.

I didn’t, I was referring to Panthers turning every injury update into an advert. Just like they can’t seem to even have a simple flipping interview without involving “Jeremias Chimney Systems” !!

Insinuating she’s not doing her job.

It was sarcasm aimed at Panthers, but if Hedberg has to travel all the way to Cardiff to find out he can’t play then either Panthers we’re lying earlier in the afternoon team news, they’re totally incompetent, or perhaps LJB ain’t doing her job.

Exactly. It's been the same thing regarding 'injuries' at panthers for years.

The first period was one of the best periods i'd seen us play in some time to be fair. Created some really good chances. Hit the bar and close on a few other occasions. That's all whilst Cardiff allowed the game to go end to end though. As soon as the went up a gear we were picked appart. Some of the goals were laughable, no idea where the Panthers players were. Cardiff looked like they were passing to the net in warm up.
As mentioned already, there is still half a season to suffer. I rekon my ST is going to cost me more money per game this year tham buying single tickets. I really cant be bothered.

Bagheera that’s spot on in the 1st period I was wondering how the Panthers have been struggling, they were playing very very well and giving as good as they took. Then we stepped up a gear and they couldn’t live with us hence the 5-1 score. Felt very sorry for the faithful who made the trip to watch 20mins of hockey, they certainly deserved better.

Where did Sheffield and Cardiff get Latal,Polak and Coughler from then…..out of a “lucky bag” ! Couple of points of order here. Latal was a full time signing, from day one of the season, he's not a mid-season signing. A learned commenter on this very forum (can you guess who?) described him when announced as "a very poor looking signing". Now he's absolutely not turned out like that at all, he's suddenly a poster boy for the Steelers inspired signing skills? Give over, you can't have it both ways. Polak is 37 this year. 2 assists in 27 games over 2 leagues last year, started this year in the hockey hotbed that is Romania. "One last paycheck" type imports are normally roasted on here. He's been a revelation in Sheffield, but I suspect could've gone either way. I doubt you'd have viewed his signing as positive, should Panthers have done so. Coughler was available as he has, it seems, recovered this season from what was apparently thought to be a season ending concussion, the latest in an apparent history of concussions. I can imagine your thoughts on Panthers signing a player with that kind of recent history, despite some good ECHL numbers. Another player who's been perhaps a surprising point/goal getter, even for the most rose-tinted Devils fan.

Looking at the game stats, can someone clear something up for me?
The penalties at 34:24 were D41 2+2 D74 2+2
P25 2+2 P51 2 P43 2
8 minutes each, but on 3 players for Panthers not 2 as Devils. One 2+2 each cancels out, leaving Devils with a 2+2, and Panthers with 2 separate minors? Should that not have left the Panthers (assuming no goals are scored) killing a 4 on 3 PP for 2 minutes, then going on a 5 on 4 PP for 2 minutes?
Panthers scored at 34:45, that was shown as a 5 on 5 goal?
Do all 16 PIMS cancel each other and thus the teams play 5 on 5 still? (I'm assuming that's the case, to be fair)
If that is the case, and the 2 fighting majors don't result in a PP either, I'm thus a bit mystified how Devils apparently got 3 PPs and Panthers 2, when I think it should be Devils with 2 (from the Matheson and Lane minors) and Panthers having one (the Waller minor at 30:00)?
