It does make you wonder, doesn't it? It's not always the case though. Flames and Clan were in the semis in 2019, Flames made it to the final. To be fair, there were only 36 qualifying games. It did feel like over 1,000 though. My post was as usual slightly in jest, yes.... But in a year when they new there was a severe chance of disruption they should have changed the format. It's blindingly obvious. The risk of disruption or not 2xH 2xA format in the groups to eliminate maximum 2 teams (if all were to participate) is too many. I have no problem with 2h2a but if that’s the case we should be going straight into the semi finals

To play these QF games this season is plain daft.

I'd like to see the two groups drawn randomly each year as well, especially if the QF stage were to be dropped. As again, very tiresome each year wondering who will finish 2nd after Belfast in our group. At least random groups shakes things up a little bit each year.

Agree entirely... you can come 2nd to Sheffield instead.

They’ll be sharing the one legged gate receipts between the two teams. Come on.....There is no way teams agreed to give up a home leg and replace it with just away travel cost. Especially a trip to Belfast ! I was thinking more for the fact that he’s now going to have to refund the season ticket holders from the 19/20 season for one game, I believe we were owed 5 from 19/20. This years season ticket covers 25 league games, the other 2 home league games are part of the 5 owed, the cup quarter final was another owed and they are giving the play-off quarter final (if we get there) as another owed. 1 game left but no more to replace it with. I'll predict that they will offer a free webcast for those 2019/20 ST holders as the final make up game.

Bearing in mind the semi’s are not provisionally scheduled until 23rd Feb it’s not going to be an early final again. Six/seven months to finish the cup again is just ridiculous.

The FA Cup only takes 11, and that has over 1000 teams taking part!
Edited by poster - this season there were 729 teams taking part
