The Nottingham Panthers @panthersihc · 9m OFFICIAL: The Nottingham Panthers & Taylor Doherty have parted ways by mutual consent.
The Panthers would like to place on record their thanks to Taylor for his efforts during the 2021/22 season.
We won't have any skaters left at the rate.

But why didn't he say why? Why doesn't he want to say he was poached. I don't trust this guy.... The defenceman was approached by a team in Eastern Europe and, after a compensation package was agreed, it is expected Taylor's arrival at his new club will be announced shortly.

not impressed by him. Obviously thought it was going to be a walk in the park over here, 'I'm a dman but I don't like doing the nitty gritty stuff, I much prefer swanning off up the right wing and going hard to the net'. Wish him well for the future.

He looked like he couldn't be arsed the last game and now we know why.
For a guy who's 6'8 he was a real powderpuff guy, he may as well have been 5'8 for all the good being big did him.
Does look like rats deserting a sinking ship at the moment though!

He certainly won’t be missed but we do need a replacement in the lineup for this weekend.
On that note of a replacement, does anyone have any idea how many “official changes” we have left to use?

We started the season with 7 available, and haven't permanently signed anyone else yet, so still that many.
I think 1 has to be kept for an emergency goalie signing, so we could presumably add 6 new players.
I'm guessing Thow and Richards will end up being 2 of them.

But as long as Pantjers can still keep on flogging ‘shirts pf their backs’ and 50/50 tickets then problems? - what problems…?

Not great loss to see him go, the game against Belfast highlighted that.
One point about the compensation, if we’re already spending up to the cap then receiving compensation won’t help improve the team, unless we can give players signing bonuses that don’t count to the wage cap?
I’ll be angry if we don’t have a player coming in/returning for this weekend.

Didn't make an impression as big as his frame, sadly. Life goes on though, that's hawkey, baby...
Tale of the tape, in all competitive games, by my reckoning. 24GP, 2+7 (0+4 League, 2+3 Cup), 18 PIMs (12 and 6), +7 (-1 and +8). 0+2 on the PP (League), 75 shots (48 League, 27 Cup), 16 blocked shots (league only). On ice for 5 of 16 League PPGs conceded, 3 of 6 in the Cup. Led the team in "shots without a goal" in the league. 2 of his 4 league assists were PP assists on goals by #43. Both his even strength assists were on goals where #9 also scored a point. Panthers won every one of the 4 League games where he scored a point, and took home 7 of 8 in the 4 such Cup games.
Good luck, Taylor.

No great loss based on what we have seen.
The only thing im dissapointed by is that we dont get to see if he would've changed with Wallace gone.

I think a goalie change in the playoffs doesn't count at all. So 7 left if needed? Jokinen, Thow and Richards were all signed as injury cover. The 3 players they were signed as cover for have missed 44 league games between them. All 3 were on IR at the end of October.

Not sure, I was going by this on the roster regs: "Note: one change is automatically reserved for an emergency goalie after the IIHF Transfer Deadline has passed. All teams must keep this change open and available." www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/1445-2021-22-roster-regulationsSo I dunno if that means you've got 7 but can only use 6, just in case, or whether that's factored in so when it says you've got 7, you've actually got 8 but just can't use one unless that need arises.

Yes, I think you're right. You have to keep one open just in case.

Suoranta, Dohery and Wallace leave (I don't believe Wallace was sacked). I think more are packing their bags.
