If only Panthers could dip into that apparent bone dry pool of players and find a Latal,Polák and Traversa. Have you seen who’s putting up points for fun at the Skydome tonight ? We signed a college kid. Surely he's the real answer to our problems? As short term injury cover, as all 3, except Latal, have been signed as, maybe he is. The chickens will come home to roost when players are fit and decisions need making.

Going into that game short on bodies and with three youngsters stepping up for both nights I thought this would be the Panthers best opportunity to get a win against us at the SSE. If it had been me coaching I would have had Panthers come out fast and physical to take energy out of the Giants early. Unfortunately from a Panther's point of view it was the Giants that came out fast and physical in the first and never really never let Panthers get into the game. Second period was a different beast all together with play going back and forth and either team could have scored three or four goals in it. Thankfully for us Panthers forwards seemed to be missfiring with some gaping chances badly missed. The injury on Carr was unfortunate and really was down to the push on Boucher. Boucher has no history of going for the netminder and to be fair there was probably for our five better times he could have done it if he had taken the notion. Hopefully Carr is ok but he was down for 5 minutes but was at leable to get off the ice relatively under his own power.
Final period was going to be very very tough for Panthers and so it proved to be. THe still had to attack but they also had to offer some defence to their backup and unfortunately something had to give. Fair play to the Panthers however, they did keep trying right to the end so that should be encouraging to yourselves. More worrying however was an obvious lack of skill within the team, a few players really looked out of their depth especially defensively and something that the Panthers are going to have to resolve if they want to be more than a mid table team this season.

Pretty fair round up of the game but we will be doing very well to end the season mid table.

You’ve got a very good team in Belfast, skill in abundance and the work rate which is required to play for Keefe. You seem to be on a role now having won 4 league games in a row, you had a bit of patchy start in the league losing 3 in the first 5 games, which I found surprising as watching you against Nottingham it is clear you are brilliant team. It’s strange how teams match up though, Nottingham have beat Cardiff twice, Cardiff have beat Belfast twice, Belfast have beat Nottingham twice. I’m hoping you can pull Sheffield back next weekend though.

The players we have added since the beginning of the season are Sointu and Stojanovic (Contracted) - Polak, Traversa and Valdix are injury cover, some of which may become permanent. One to replace DeLuca and one to cover for Connolly (long term injured) and one to cover Adrain Saxrud-Danielsson (8 weeks). As someone else posted Latal was in the original lineup Don't know where your problems in recruiting are over the years but with GM's illness there is only really one constant in the organisation left now, (NB)

They don’t sign many that make you think hey this guy is somebody to build a team around for several years and on the odd occasion they do then the player doesn’t come back. Says a lot about the club that does.

Interesting to hear the comments on Lane. A player who is yet to hit his stride, and is not generally well thought of yet on these pages at least, probably due to his points output (not many = Bad Player) but anyone who catches the eye in a thrashing is surely someone worth more positivity.

Let's face it NB is driving the club into the ground .. he's basically taking panthers back to the state he found them

Why would anyone else get a penalty, it was 100% at fault for the Card injury My point is Boucher does not look like he's avoiding contact in that play. He's still steaming straight at Carr when he and Brassard make contact. I think he hits Carr with or without any intervention. If you take a closer look at the highlights, Boucher heads towards the net then begins to move laterally across Carr's crease as Brassard cross checks him, very little Boucher could then do to avoid Carr. Hopefully the injury isn't long term and he is fit soon

He's never going to win anyone any games but he's constantly up against guys twice his size in the corners and he plays hard and just never stops. Like the Energizer Bunny no matter how hard he's hit

He may work hard but he’s not really troubling the scoresheet.

His work rate is ok but we need more offensive threat from him. Wallace has moved Lane and Suoranta off the powerplay units now, Myers and Betteridge are playing on them instead. We’ve got too many import forwards who aren’t producing the goals, whether that’s due to players not fitting the coach’s systems or lack of creativity throughout the team, we need to sort it. The moneys been put in, we’ve got 16 imports currently signed up, if we manage to get everybody fit then Doucet is going to have to make some decisions on the squad.

Both their CVs suggest there are plenty of EIHL points there. Lane has plenty enough in the ECHL and plenty in the ALpsHL (where some good EIHL players have come from/played in), Suoranta has played years in a far better league than the EIHL. Both have been much better in Cup games, weirdly, 11 points between them in 15 man-games played, which is much more like it.

He's a worker who scores goals but that won't happen in our league

No good going on the now-dead Panthers website so had a look on YouTube and Wallace look pretty defeated here

Embarrassing, and those upstairs don't care. As long as the balance sheet is healthy nothing else matters.

He seems fed up. Wouldn't be surprised if he wants out tbh.
