A certain ex Panthers import who played for us in 21/22 and 22/23 was at both the POFW & the GB game played here in Nottingham last week. He was asked if he was coming back to Nottingham in some capacity. He replied no as he doesn't get on with Omar Pacha (I'm sure he's far from the first player to have fallen out with an off ice team official). The players vs Coach Kevin Murphy for those with long memories is an example of that. Hopefully there's not a theme developing here. Ollie Betteridge allegedly not happy with the set up of the club, subsequently linked to Cardiff. Tetlow apparently wanting out too. First heard that a few weeks ago. Then there's a brit forward who hasn't yet heard anything from the club as to whether he's likely to be wanted back next season. And yes I do realise it's very early in the off season. We could end up with a very different brit pack next season compared to the one that finished this past one. One way or another it will be an interesting summer..... With the exception of one of the Dmen (likely Joe as in my opinion he’ll be more in demand) It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Brit pack stay as it is

Why not just name the players for gods sake? There’s no mystery , surely the import was Welsh, who we upgraded on? Any Kevin Murphy was literally last century.

I mean it can only be Welsh or Brassard and both had underwhelming 2nd seasons. I'd thought Brassard was still playing in his play offs (hence me suggesting it was Welsh) but could be either, yes. And yes, both had somewhat average second seasons anyway. Sometimes the feeling goes both ways too. For every "The management treated me poorly" there's a "The player had unrealistic expectations and was difficult to deal with". Ollie is a bit of a conundrum. For me, he ought to be looking to play top 6 minutes, 18+ minutes a night, and in glimpses, is a serious scorer. But he rarely does that. He played an average 14:09 last season, in a bracket with Pare, Welsh and Kelsall. Only 1 game he played over 18 minutes, the lowest maximum TOI of any player on our roster. It looks to me like he's badged as a "low-production bottom 6 role player" type player. His best EIHL year is 0.5PPG, effectively a 27 point season. I doubt he'll get more TOI in Cardiff, to be honest, the Brit forwards there were pretty much 4th line all year. He's most similar to Waller, I guess, so maybe being courted as a direct replacement if Waller is moving? He might blossom though, like Lacho has in Glasgow. Time will tell.

in the LNAH, Gui & Assurancie Thetford take on Matthieu Gagnon * 3L Riviere du Loup in the best of seven final starting this evening. Series tied at 1-1 after the first weekend. Gui Lepine & Thetford win both games at the weekend to lead the series 3-1, now stand one win from winning the playoff series.
