The worst part of that article is the “significantly less games” bit. Fewer, fgs, significantly fewer.

Fair point re shooting fish in a barrel. And also re "What actually is week x"? It would take so little effort to be so much better. It seems to be Monday to Sunday, at they normally post the "new week" notice on a Monday. Plus they sometimes refer to the Sunday games as the last game of the week. Think I've got it. Week 11 starts today, it seems, as per this. www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/1808-hello-week-11The weeks do indeed seem to run Monday to Sunday. So working back, if weeks 11 starts 29 November, week 1 must have started 20 September. Only problem with that is Guildford played Coventry twice over the weekend 18/19 September. Was that in week 0? I'll assume that week 1 was an extended one, this seems to be confirmed in the first week 1 TOI review, "Jamal Watson of the Guildford Flames is their leader over their opening four games so far, averaging 28:49 per game and putting him second overall in the Premier Sports Elite League." Those 4 games would be 18/19/25 and 26 September. Sorted!

From last night’s report. “Fife did find a route back into the game during the latter stages of a 5-on-3 powerplay …”
As far as I can tell, Flyers didn’t have a single second of 5 on 3 powerplay all game? They scored 5 on 4 in the second two minute part of a double minor to Matthieu Roy?

Atrocious.. along with the scribes accounts.

"Video review for Week 10's games is now completed - additional assists for Michael McNicholas have biw put him on top of the points leaderboard for the season!"
I genuinely dont know how anyone can not see that, or what it's even supposed to be.

I genuinely dont know how anyone can not see that, or what it's even supposed to be. Presumably fat finger syndrome. The b and the i are next to the n and o. Making it "now". But how you can't spot that before publishing is just beyond me. Someone really doesn't care...

Just goes to show the league's long-term view of the future. No one could possibly be that incompetent and go unnoticed.

But a local authority isn't a business. It's one of the last bastions of spending other people's money and keeping your job as long as possible and attracting the sort of people you wouldn't turn your back on in a sweet shop. Some teams not able to get enough bottoms on seats to make it viable and others syphoning money off to far off lands. Just what long term thinking are those in the EIHL actually involved in? Anyone looking at the EIHL site would think it was either a first-grade project or it's been outsourced to a non-english speaking company to run. It's way beyond just being bad.

A nice Scott Conway pass found David Goodwin who's excellent hands beat Starrett on the powerplay at 46:42, followed by Griffin Reinhart's blueline blast through a screen 59 seconds later. Conway, who at one point during the game had as many shots personally as the Clan overall, finished off the scoring at 51:25 on a rebound from Boucher's nice waltz in front of the net.
Whose, my illiterate friend, whose. "Who's" is short for "who is" or "who has". Conway had 10 shots, the Clan went a pretty grim 4/6/4 for 14 shots in total, but whether Conway had all his shots in the first 2 periods, I don't know. And to be fair, if Clan had their first shot, then Conway had Giants' first shot, that little segment would also be true. Fair play to Conway, that's some performance. He is surely the most all round impressive new player in the EIHL this year? Good to see some Strictly on the ice. Did they really mean to type "waltz"?

Which, sadly is what happens with the texting generation.

Another error filled report, on the Blaze Giants game this time. At least it lets slip that Blaze don't have video review capabilities, it seems, which possibly went against them on the night.

"Jonas Emmerdahl logs the most minutes per game in the league"
He logs 26:44 TOI per game, according to the article. Which is apparently more than 27:14 Jamal Watson and 29:42 Drydn Dow.
Who knew?

In the midst of all that innumeracy, it's pretty obvious that Giants are relying pretty heavily on their top line. All 3 of them are in the top 5 TOI. Although Jordan Boucher has 10 points in his last 6 league games, probably the form forward in the league?
