They’ve done themselves proud already tonight. “Period too” “Miss-hit” “Equaliers” It’s quite a skill.

“equaliser” has now been changed, but not the other two. Curiouser and curiouser.

Today's selection of randomly compounded words and leftover editing words (plus a possible reminder to insert a picture??) "Stars' goalie Adam Morrison currently holds the league's highest save percentage *up* at 94.31% through three games, despite them all ending in losses. The Stars give up a *league-high* of 41 shots per game *(Storm 33, #6).*" And for added bonus points not spotting the difference between off and of when they're only separated by one statistic: "Storm are only killing *of* 63.6% of the penalties they take." www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/1613-stars-head-into-manchester-looking-for-first-league-win

EIHL Twitter, but they've got the dates for Carozza and Lee the wrong way round as Carozza played on the 23rd.

"They find themselves with six points from four league games but board the league's best point percentage at .750." They were after "boast" there, weren't they?
"Their shutout defeat in Manchester just under a week ago left them with one win from three league games played - that victory coming in front of the Premier Sports camera in Coventry." That is one hard working cameraman.

Really poor - I believe the difference between run of the mill organisations and very professional organisations is the attention to detail especially with regards to communications that are in the public domain.

If someone did this where I worked I’d be livid. It just screams lack of any attention to detail and/or not grasping even the basics of English, or actually checking your work. It’s worse than poor.

You know the answer to all this would be that the fans are moaning for moans sake and they’d push it all under the carpet. When they should be embarrassed ( my spelling is poor but I’m not in their position) I wonder how they’d explain it at a face to face fans meeting at the finals weekend.

They actually seem to have deleted one post that previewed last weekend which had the epic sentence "with defeats over Xteam and Yteam last time out" I emailed to ask how you have a defeat over an opponent, let alone two opponents at the same time and now the post seems to have disappeared. Go figure

Unless you don't have a long term goal If I’m honest I don’t think organisations such as the EIHL are that bothered about the perceived lack of professionalism on their apart. It’s an organisation of limited aspirations and if that is the culture a high standard in anything they do will never be achieved

“Quick-fire goals were also the key to the middle period for the Giants, who effectively won the game in the in 35 minutes.”
I’m not even sure what they were thinking of saying in that last bit.

It's good to contribute the following to this thread which always makes me laugh.
'poking home from the top of the crease after Craig Peacock had attempted to put the pick in from a tight angle.'
Surely an illegal equipment penalty should have been called and a lifetime ban for Peacock.

"Imants Lesvocs rounded off the Flyers' win with 56 lefts to ensure they got the two points they needed to advance to the next round."
Man, that is a one-sided fight. And his name is Lescovs.

"Storm Head Coach Ryan Finnerty called a timeout to rally his team, and also opened to replace Ginn, who'd seen five go past him on 19 shots, for James Downie."
I suspect they were after "opted" there, rather than opened.
"...though the Flames had a couple of opportunities to put the game to bed on off-man rushes the other way."
That'll be odd-man rushes, perhaps?
"When Jaren Vanwomer put the puck home at 50:48..."
So close...

That'll be odd-man rushes, perhaps? "When Jaren Vanwomer put the puck home at 50:48..." So close... Personally for me the biggest howler from this report is the missing goal from the second period. No mention at all of Morgan's second goal Manchester though they later make a big thing about him getting a hat trick. So the match report makes no sense as it entirely misses out the fact that Storm scored in the second period. And so Morgan goes from one goal to a hat trick with nothing in-between. Their report on the second period ends after Guilford are 5-1 up... But then suddenly Morgan scores at the start of period three and they're "within two". It's amateurish. In what other sport or organisation would it be acceptable to publish a report that misses out 10% of the thing that's it's supposed to be reporting on? It makes a nonsense of the match report because if you read it you can't work out how Guilford win 6-5 in extra time because Manchester are only reported as scoring 4 in regular time. According to the report Guilford have scored 5 and Manchester 4 by the end of regulation... www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/1666-flames-win-in-ot-after-storm-snatch-point[]= My explanation "Liam Morgan tipped a Cam Critchlow show past Kevin Lindskoug's near post with 29 seconds left in the period *to get Storm on the board.* [Period one has now ended. Manchester have now got one goal "on the board"] Storm's hope of battling themselves back into the game took a bitter blow with two Flames goals in 35 seconds at the start of the middle period. Ian Watters was left with too much space alone in front of the net and finished well from Jordan Cownie's feed on 22 minutes, followed by Frei completing his hat trick on a loose puck after Jamal Watson's blueline effort was blocked en route to the net. Storm Head Coach Ryan Finnerty called a timeout to rally his team, and also opened to replace Ginn, who'd seen five go past him on 19 shots, for James Downie. [Second interval according to match report. No mention of Manchester scoring in the second period. Making the score 5-1 on paper not 5-2 like it should be] Morgan *completed a hat trick* of his own *with a goal 36 seconds into the third which brought Storm back to within two.*" [Suddenly the third period starts off making no sense as Morgan has now suddenly scored three, and Manchester are back within two but only *one* prior Manchester goal exists in the report] It's embarrassing 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

Harsh. The "B" is right next to the "N". Literally the next key. Anyone (who didn't read what they'd typed before they published it) could make that mistake.
