Our resident Devil has had an interesting take on the O'Connor situation. Taken from the Inferno: "Personally I don’t think Ben ever wanted to be here, it was a Allien signing from the onset. Myself I think he was a mole and still on Steelers payroll, I reckon he was instructed to play as crap as possible and cause disruption, keep up with the cross ice moves, and keeping his eyes closed when he passed the puck, and try to cause unrest in the Devils dressing room, and to pass on any relevant plans and playing methods. Then get out before Xmas playing a Foxy move, lay low for awhile and then reappear with his finest Orange wear." BOC is one of the few d men who's highly paid who can't actually defend ..

They have nothing to by signing him, except on a two way as injury cover.

Ego aside, I can see it would work for him. He'd play for the Dogs for fun then Steelers could pay him if they needed him. Plus he could still work full-time

Plus he could still work full-time I see your point. But if I recall correctly he didn’t leave the Steelers on the best of terms though.

Fortunately his hockey playing brother has now retired. Just imagine if both played on the same team, the same line ?

Blaze v Fife game tomorrow is postponed and they’re not saying why at present. It was a Blaze home game so it’s presumably not because of Scottish crowd restrictions.

That would suggest Storm’s next games against Panthers on 29th Dec and Steelers on 1st Jan will likely be off too then.

Google Translate is your friend.
Avery Peterson fools the Steelers Mitchell Heard asked a few weeks ago to terminate his contract, as he has been suspended twice for violating our team values. We complied with this request and there was no economic compensation whatsoever. That means Mitchell Heard was immediately off the payroll.
Via our network, we came back to Avery Peterson, who we had on the list last summer. As always, we checked everything, did research, spoke to him personally on the phone, etc. Current players from our squad knew him and the result was that he is a good ice hockey player and a good guy.
When the contract was clear, we carried out the player licensing through the DEB and the PENNY DEL. We then received the transfer card (= approval from the US association).
Avery Peterson arrived in Bietigheim and went through the PCR tests, the sports medical examination and made his first game for the Steelers on December 10th, 2021. He was part of the team quickly, was fully integrated and apparently felt at home. He asked for his wife's flight to be booked because she was supposed to come as soon as he "arrived" - we organized this in accordance with the contract.
On December 17th, 2021 before the game against Iserlohn, all bags were packed, he informed us that he could no longer play, he was sick and had hardly slept - he wanted to go back to the USA immediately.
We wanted to send him to the doctor to have him examined - he refused. For several days we tried to get him medical care - he always refused. We offered psychological support because here we have a responsibility and duty of care for the player - everything was refused. We did all of this in close coordination with his agent. This tried from his side to influence him.
Avery Peterson then booked his flight without authorization and flew back to the USA. All his equipment was hanging in the cabin, his car was parked in front of the apartment and the apartment key was on the table - it was just gone!
We then researched directly with the agent and discovered that Avery Peterson had joined a team in the ECHL. He had another agent who no one knew about. We immediately informed the PENNY DEL, the DEB, the DEB and the IIHF. Avery Peterson has no approval and we are currently checking to what extent we can take legal action regarding breach of contract and claims for damages.
Such fraudulent behavior has no place in professional sport.
