Also just seen that Saxrud-Danielsen was banned for this one after the hit on Suoranta. What I don't understand is why a ban would take place in a friendly rather than an official game?

5-3, Panthers with the empty netter. Put it in the book of games that don't actually matter! Except if Panthers had lost, in which case critics would be on here talking about lack of fitness, training camp, players not showing up etc

Victory. Even if pre-season that's a nice bounce back showing.
Well done Panthers.

I believe that he's the one who also injured Domingue. Couldn't believe he only got 2 minutes for the hit on Suronta. Definitely agree with the previous poster about getting an Enforcer. Cardiff last week had a guy who was gooning it up and I believe that other teams have them as well. Tousignent is an irritant type player. Good win tonight, hopefully that's the launchpad.

I'll want to see a replay, but I saw nothing particularly wrong with the Domingue incident. Both challenging to be in place for when the puck comes across. It's a hockey play that happens in most games, but Domingue obviously felt it! Definitely want some toughness. As has been said, a Leigh Salter/Justin Faryna is what I'd want.

Did we pick-up any more injuries - Think last nights game Panthers treated it as a "Friendly" but Steelers were there to show intent - Tonight we were actually ready - We need a bit of muscle though - I think the league games will be a bit different and hopefully the Stripies will maintain some form of unbiased control - And yes I do believe in Fairies

Even though it’s just a pre-season game, there is no better feeling than winning in Sheffield. Absolutely love it.
We looked a level above tonight, we looked sharper and a lot fitter. Sheffield were hindered slightly with 3 import dmen missing and 1 import forward missing, but, they brought B.Whistle and Shudra in, we were also missing Domingue, so the difference between squads was only 1 player.
Nice to see the offence click tonight, Baillargeon impressed with his overall play and Boivin looked dangerous all the way through the game.
It’s strange that we don’t seem capable of beating Sheffield at home yet we’ve done well against them away from home lately. That’s three wins in a row in the tin shed. Here’s hoping we can keep up the away form and finally get a win at home.
One last point, people call the NIC a library, but tonight it was embarrassing how little atmosphere there was to say it was their first home game back. Sheffield’s drummers weren’t there so unless Simmsey started screaming down the mic there was hardly a chant or any noise, and that’s even with 8,500 in attendance and the home fans occupying the majority of the bottom and top away blocks.

Glad to see that Steelers are continuing the trend of mixing their supporters with the opposition fans - another good reason for me not going to the TIN SHED anytime in the future

Presumably because players are always banned for the next team game they're playing that falls under the EIHL Dops jurisdiction.

Like how Sheffield have downgraded yesterday's game from a 'challenge' or preseason game, to an exhibition game, inferring ' not to be taken seriously'

Similar thing to match reports of a Panthers rocket shot or great snipe goal but the oppositions goals are usually lucky bounces or wicked deflections. 🤣🙄

" Think it'll be on copy and paste this season. Did you say the highlights were online?

After saying that(above)anyone know the shots on goal for periods 1,2 and 3 of the game away at Sheffield? I believe Kerlin took over at 30.16 time wise so may have to guess the sog for each IF I can gather what the period totals were. Scorer (who will remain nameless) put the SAME totals for sog as the actual goals scored , so apparently sog for the whole game was 3:5
So no shots on goal at all and no goalie details and times of change. But got the change time from our Twitter account of the game, though that also misses the chance to say who is in goal etc under normal circumstances. Appreciate any help.
********************************
As regards our home GRS we have CARR going off at 57.45 but noted as having 58 minutes played???
