They all seem to be using the same platform now, Infinity21, so I guess we can get used to 15 quid prices and my money can remain safely with me. Yep, £15 for ANY EIHL webcast is a joke. Even Sheffield's superior standard. Not getting a penny from me either. I'll attend Panthers when work/travel allows. Gotta love how Panthers say it’s “just £15” for the webcast like it’s bargain of the century ! 🙄 What a pisss take.

It’s going to be £15 all around the league, well for those that do it of course.

The price rise is totally indefensible. Another way to turn away any paying public who are potentially on the fence over attending in person.

What’s the average price of a ticket across the league? Presumably £15 or thereabouts. Should the cost of watching remotely really be lower than going in person?

Should the cost of watching remotely really be lower than going in person? Yes, certainly by a much greater margin than it is now. The two experiences aren't comparable. Well, I don't think they are, apparently the Elite League don't share my confidence and think everyone would stay at home.

I once had an exchange with Simmsey where I said the average match ticket price was about £12 when taking all ticket prices into consideration over a whole crowd of adults, students, kids and concessions. Simmsey reckoned no chance and that the average price was nowhere near that. So work that one out now they’re charging £15 for a webcast ! They are extracting the Michael in rather a large way.

I don’t feel this is a fair criticism.
It would cost me £100 to take my family.
Even if I went alone I’d pay more for a ticket than the webcast.
I’m reasonable enough to appreciate they have a business to run and getting physical bums on seats drives the bottom line.

I recall the first proper webcast Panthers did of a Steelers game not long ago, they sold over 700 webcasts that night so at £15 each that’s well over £10k. Now I’m no techno geek but there can be no way that doesn’t produce some very serious profit. It doesn’t need to be £15, the EIHL are just being greedy.

Anyway, it's currently 1-2 after 2. Domingue for us again.

Might have to dip into the tat raffle fund for that 14th import. An AHL winger perhaps?

I hope I’m wrong but looking at tonight’s performance against a Steelers side playing their first game we looked very lightweight. When your netminder is run from the back and he has to skate over to sort the culprit out himself Thats not a good start.
Apart from Doherty and Matherson our defence looked shakey throughout and if it hadn’t been for Carr the score would have been much worse.
Can’t really comment on the forwards as they had to shuffle the pack with the two injuries but unless we get some size in quickly it’s going to be a long season.

No other game would command 700 webcasts far from it, it’s swings and roundabouts bet the average is 300 maybe, now your at £3.5k before all the costs, no one is going to get rich from webcasts. At the end of the day all the webcasts are costing the same £15, people like me will pay it if they want to watch it, if you don’t want to pay it that’s fine, it’s everyone’s personal choice. People can bang on till the cows come home, but it’s that price end of.

We had chances that we didn’t take tonight though, we weren’t clinical enough. As always, Sheffield get the scruffy goals, three deflections/tips. Carr did play well though as you say. I also agree that we look quite lightweight, Lee should should have gone for Connelly after his collision with Carr, irrelevant of whether they’re GB teammates. If Doherty is going to be relied up as a top 4 dman then we need to sign a big physical winger, similar to Salters, who will hit, score and fight. I won’t hold my breath though as we’re still waiting for the 14th import. From the three games so far we do look shy in front of net. 3 games, 3 losses, 5 goals scored.

Didnt see last week, so my thoughts.
Stand out player: Carr! Regardless of score I thought he was exceptional. If he can be consistant he may be a title winning goalie after all.
Touisingant will either be epic or a penalty magnet. I dont see anything inbetween for him.
It does really bother me that hockey is now in a place where you can get away with that on a goalie.
Overall it was a decent game of hockey. It was a pre season game so no reason to get upset. If we do indeed have 1 more player to come though it really must be a power forward, middleweight type at least.

Well well quite disappointing really, like has been mentioned carr should not have to fight his own battles very disappointing, tho they haven’t got a tough guy either we did not play physical at all. When tousi was here last time he went missing in the big games and he did again tonight again very disappointed. For his size Doherty needs to use that size more he looks lost most of the time, I no it’s early days but could tell baillageon has been out the game a while, also does anybody know what carozza role is in this side? Thought carr was great tonight and kept us in the game, Sheffield looked way a head of us at the end of week 1 stage, as has been pointed out could be a very very long season.

A player that might be available and would address some of the issues we appear to have is Justin Faryna. He was always eager to drop the gloves, a decent goal scorer as well. The pool of players will be getting small now, seasons are close to starting, a player in the mould of Faryna is hard to come by, signing him or someone similar would be a good move imo.

Good start by Elite in leaving a GRS after a report of the games. But seems that was short lived. None from last night so would appreciate and information. Who didn't play from the squad list. Assists, pims, who played in goal and was it the whole 60mins.SOG ?
