Disciplined performance, rode our luck at times but we deserved to take it to the wire. Over the two games Tetlow and Clements have certainly stepped up. Disappointed with Ferrara so far, looks out of his depth.

It was certainly an impressive performance, I was fearing the worst after 30 seconds.
However even though it's easier said then done, they have got to find a way to get more shots on goal, it may make the opposition think more and may save Bowns and Whistle from facing an avalanche of shots.
I'm also wondering if Tetlow may be making an impression on some scouts?
I know that Connelly is an annoying...but for this tournament please carry on what your doing

Bowns in his Panthers Elite Series Champions jacket. Guess the GB one didn't fit.

Prescient point. 25 shots in 120 minutes puts lots of pressure on the D to keep the team "in the game".

Come on chaps.....looking at UK history there has been a fair few Cup competitions. Not because of a torrid time under Covid but (I agree) as a fix to fill in the gap. BUT, it was an Elite competition like all before. We have had the Knock Out Cup which wasn't taken seriously but it was a competition all invited to. You've got to be in it to win it as they say. Scottish League Flag, London Cup, Coronation Cup, International Cup, Midlands Cup, Southern Cup were all short lived and that's without mentioning the Cups that lasted a few years before being dumped in favour of others but they were all the same...a Cup competition. Without mentioning regional affairs too it all goes to show that a Cup is a Cup and your not getting anything mildly what you want when ALL the teams have to play the same number of games before some play-off series.
It's an official competition and we won it. Milk it? Blimey we've not started yet, it's still May when we won it.

Sweden (with a fair few breaks between games!) like Canada not in it at all yet. Sweden to face in form Switzerland this year then if the Czechs beat them too it would be us last to try and inflict embarrassment on them, just imagine...just pray. Belarus has joined the party as everyone is beating each other. I'm looking for us to beat Belarus and get off the bottom of that table. Would that happen if teams were equal on points with the tied teams separated by that game between them?

Apparently Switzerland held Denmark to only 4 shots, if correct, that's quite an achievement.
Judging from what I've seen of Canada, it's quite a shame we got the All Star team last time, granted they would still beat us but I think it would be a more competitive game

Don't think anyone would have predicted our scoring efficiency coming in at 11th of 16 teams at this point (ahead of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Canada etc) 😳 Yes when your PK only ranks 11th as well you're riding your luck with so few shots but... Kudos to Whistle and Bowns' for being 10th collectively so far in Team save percentage. "Get that goalie a contract!" Hoping the forwards click a bit more as the games go on though.

I'm also wondering if Tetlow may be making an impression on some scouts? I'd have thought so. Loved the way he gave the Russians zero respect for their pedigree. That attitude can't be taught. The rest can. Think Bowns' agent will be rubbing his hands so far as well and Kirk isn't doing himself any harm with Arizona pre training camp either. His goals might not have been top shelf but that's two different KHL goalies he's scored on from 4 SOG. But we need to get Hammond into shooting positions. He's had one shot on goal in two games. Maybe teams have learned from last time?

No idea. Probably had an agreement knowing full well he wouldn't need it, but I'd bet if he did have to come back here then he'd go to Sheffield.

www.iihf.com/en/events/2021/wm/news/25801/statement_from_iihfInteresting response from IIHF, don't see what is gained by asking the Latvian govt. to remove the other two flags from the Public area. I would expect them to bring stronger sanctions against the Latvians, although they can't really remove them from the tournament seeing as they are the hosts !

If the IIHF are as they claim an apolitical body and are that bothered over the Belarus flag being removed they should have been playing games in Minsk as co host today. Putin must have been on the phone to Fasel today.

Tetlow named man of the match today, and rightly so, he is playing really well blocking a ton of shots and leading by example. Good prospect.

It would be especially two-faced given that they've stated that, "The actions of the Belarus government are separate from the players who are competing under the Belarus flag at this tournament." By their standards, the Latvia team is seperate to the government. Any sporting punishment would be hypocritical.
