Everyone at The Nottingham Panthers would like to wish alternate captain Brian Connelly the best as he joins @ehclustenau of the Alps Hockey League on a multi-year contract.

Going to be a few more players leaving yet. I see British hockey was hoping to have some news today about opening up the rinks, this hasn’t happened so no where near announcing any season plans. Players will now know there’s possibly no hockey before Christmas so they are going to look at other leagues. With no wages to keep them here you can’t blame them.

The thing that doesn't add up is that other teams are signing players like a season is going to begin this year.
I think Twickenham were trying to get fans in but that is an outdoor stadium.
Could the Arena be an issue? tbh, I don't really know.

There's no news as to when large gatherings of people (e.g. sports crowds) will be allowed. And looking at behaviour this last few days, I'll be surprised if a second wave isn't already brewing. Even if the league starts, you'd have to think that some kind of restriction would be put on crowd size, which renders the EIHL business model troublesome, as almost all league revenue is derived from the paying punter, with no significant advertising/sponsorship/TV deal. Could we really see the league starting and people watching a webcast from home in their thousands?

Sports crowds at football is going to happen a long time before sports crowds indoors even without a second wave happening
