Do we need or want him. I think he is over rated by others and himself. Has tried bigger leagues and ends up back in shuff, I know a hockey career is short and you need to make as much as you can but he wasn't worth what he was rumoured to be on. If he moves to another EIHL team then I think he'll have to take a cut. We defo need him that's without question its whether we want him. You would be nuts not to want one of the top brit d men

O'connor released from the Steelers, Cardiff bound perhaps? Not without a coach I'd have thought.

Don’t think O,Connor is Cardiff bound, but we won’t be waiting for a coaching appointment before making signings, we still have everyone on board for that, and outside coaches don’t normally sign players anyway. My guess O,Connor to Guildford, Davies from Guildford to Cardiff, Sam Jones Flyers to Steelers.Stay safe.

Then you have coaches coming in who may not want certain players.. if they are already signed .. P.s Panthers latest presser is spot on btw. The word of the day is Irresponsible

Most coaches from other leagues don’t sign the players, they inherit them that’s the way it works, didnt Aaron Fox inherit steelers, Andrew Lord inherited Gerad Adams team. Probably most of our team are already signed, but their names haven’t been released yet. Stay Safe.

So here’s a question, are Panthers being very sensible not signing anyone as there won’t be a season, or have they signed quite a lot of players but ain’t saying anything, Are other teams being really stupid signing players and announcing them, or should they either stay stum or not bother as what’s the point. I think 6 teams have released signings with 4 saying nowt, so who’s right and who’s wrong. Stay Safe.

For the teams who have announced players their fans could be disappointed if a season doesn’t materialise, but at least those fans currently have some hope. One thing that is concerning in regards to Panthers is the fact that they’ve not even taken taken applications for season tickets, so how can we have any idea of what budget we are likely to have? This is the biggest pointer to me that there will be no season. For the Panthers though, if we do end up having a season, it could be disastrous in terms of budget planning and being able to ice a team that is capable of competing.

A lot depends on what it says in their contracts. If Two-Point ends up paying them all from August-the-whatever like usual, regardless of if the season takes place or not, then that'll be pretty stupid.
If they've got a clause in for season starting, then there's no harm in having everything in place.

Well in fairness you would have to be a total dodo to not go with option 2, that has to be a given. Don’t think anyone could be that stupid. As for paying from August that a Defo no no, possibly mid Nov if very lucky with a later season finish. So the chairman of the league is getting the wheels turning with 6 teams on board at least.

But then the contracts presumably aren't worth a great deal (not that they are anyway), the players will need to make a living somewhere.

This virus is worldwide so no contracts are worth much, that’s the way it is.

It's not a blanket, Boris-level cockup world wide though, some leagues (who'll take players of our level) will manage to get going sooner than others, some leagues will be less reliant on bums on seats than ours etc.
It'd be interesting to know exactly what the Steelers have agreed with these 7 today.

If the season goes ahead you get paid, if it don’t then you don’t. What’s difficult about that.

Clauses in contract wont help players when potentially they lose 3-4 months earnings by waiting for this league to start!
In a way I hope this season does get cancelled just to see all the back peddling from certain organisations in sorting 'their' players future out!
Thay will be fun to watch lol
