It looks like Sheffield will have their own Jon Rheault predicament next season if they have to keep Bettauer, who has been their healthy scratch whilst doing his studies. It will be interesting to see what they do, considering as well that there will be a limit of 18 imports signed through the season, 19 if you need a goalie in an emergency situation.
Teams are going to have to be better with their recruitment if they want success, we signed 20 different imports through the course of the season just gone, Sheffield signed 21! If you’re carrying imports like Rheault from the start it will hurt you as injuries will inevitably occur and, if you’ve already used 1 player spot on an import who doesn’t have an impact, then it could lead to you not being able to pick up a player when you need to

Matt Haywood has one more year left on his current deal with Glasgow Clan, so you can probably add him to the list. It's the third year of a three year deal.

I can see a report of a 3 year deal in 2017 ( link), which would've expired this year. And an "extension" last summer ( link), but nothing to suggest that covered anything more than this season, from what I can see.

I thought Fick was on a uni deal. Tousignant was also studying but not sure if it was at Loughborough or on a deal

This new rule of only being allowed to sign a maximum of 18 imports in a season. How’s that work if several imports do a “Loiseau” after a few weeks and decide to bugger off home ?

Oooh that could be fun if teams are chucking squads together at short notice for next season.

Nottingham one of four who have no players as yet. But might as well stay that way because I don't see a season at all as each week goes by. Considering the fans urgency to get Herr signed up quickly at one point I wonder when teams will have to jump into action or have contracts been pencilled in that we don't know of. Odd Summer wrangling and perhaps rushed signings ahead? 'Anything can happen in the next half hour' as they say though.

Think most clubs will have a few players signed up,on the promise should the season start, you have to have some kind of plan and not get caught out if the hopeful happens and we get some hockey which no body can say yay or nay. Don’t know if announcing signings helps with season ticket sales, it probably could I suppose only time will tell and we will see. Anyway stay safe all.

Joey Haddad re-signs for the Devils, great news for us guys. Yep, he was absolutely deadly on the PP this season, strong as an Ox on the puck and no injuries this season. A big part of your recent success.

Joey Haddad re-signs for the Devils, great news for us guys. Probably the most underrated player in the league the last few years. Apart from by Devils fans.

Guilford are doing well retaining their players, I thought they would be gutted by the other top teams.
Or is it a case that teams and players are sticking with what they know?

Guildford Flames are bankrolled by their owner, as such they have more purchasing power than their attendances might suggest. I don't think they are in with the 'big 4' spending wise, but I'd wager they spend much more than Dundee, Fife and Manchester, so I'd expect them to have a decent chance holding on to key pieces and improving contracts when required to retain top players.
