With more cases reported today, and surely a load more during the week... I wonder if the government will follow France and ban any large gatherings... France currently capped at 5000...
Next few weeks will be really interesting for sure.

Expect many sporting events to be cancelled & even large cities to be locked down.
Embrace the end, it's happening people. Science always wins.

Can’t see it being cancelled. Some EIHL teams would probably struggle to survive without that £500k pay day share out from POFW.

This would mean no football, no rugby,,no concerts, can’t see that happening. See Italy. It can & will happen. There's no stopping this thing, it's here to wipe out a certain generation. We will have triple figure confirmed cases this week, deaths will follow, mass events will be shutdown, cities potentially locked down, supermarket & petrol panic buying is imminent. Batten down your hatches folks.

I'd also say it's not specifically POFW at risk, but all sporting events. What happens if the league games aren't finished and events get cancelled? I doubt the league would ever have thought about such contingencies (and this is such a previously outlandish idea that I don't blame them if they never considered this).

Batten down your hatches folks. Woah... OTT much? Bearing in mind the possibility (% chances impossible to predict) that this virus could mutate into something much nastier... the vast majority of cases (so far) appear to be mild, and the vast majority of deaths (so far) appear to be people who have existing medical conditions or other reasons for increased vulnerability. This is a serious outbreak, absolutely no question about that... but based on the evidence so far, the mass hysteria (being generated mainly by the media, who have a vested interest in exaggerating) simply isn't warranted. That may change... or it may not. But until it does... perhaps a little more thought and a little (lot?) less spinal-reflex panic might be in order...

Even if it were true and they limited crowds to 5000 max, all you’d do in the EIHL is only sell 4999 tickets in Nottingham,Belfast and Sheffield. At least that would get the league games finished.

Minus any staff, etc... but I get the drift. That assumes they say 5,000 is the limit like in France and banks aren't either more severe, or perhaps localised to specific cities or regions. It's all hypothetical at this stage though.
