Out of all the netminders you’ve see this season, who do you think is a championship winning one? Im not sure there has been a stand out netminder this year. Bowns would be the best shout but he has been over used. It's a commonly used term for a goalie that delivers game in, game out consistantly with very few errors. Carr isn't that for me. You'll see i've said a lot of positives about him overall. He can be excellent sometimes, as I feel he was last night. However he also has performances like tonight where it could be argued his performance was the major contributing factor in us losing. Totally agree. Carr, Garnett and Wiikman havent been as good as Kowalski was

Ohh late goal......for 3-2 Spik, stop it! This is getting ridiculous now! I count it at two only. The team are playing the damn game and you could possibly call it anyway. Next match I'm saying nowt and we'll see what happens. If we win I'll go into hiding a whole season for 20-21.

I certainly don't want to be playing Coventry in the playoffs. 4th v 5th ?

I know it's illegal to be positive in here but Panthers gain a point on Steelers and Devils for the weekend...
Perlini now 0 for 5 in penalty shoot outs this season. Someone have a word with Tim...

Ive said the same to a few people around the points gained. I'll keep dreaming for now. Because of that i'll be hoping for a Steelers win on Friday. Incredibly frustrating to drop a point tonight, but 3 points from 2 very good teams is a decent return. This season will still be looked at as what have might have been if it wernt for that aweful start.

Looking to chase down the second place I think. Playing catch up without full points that are needed. Shame as it looked good till recently. Still, Cardiffs to lose and each week we draw nearer the end it looks more the likely a Welsh win.

Home and away against the Storm, Stars and Devils. The most likely team to beat them in that bunch is the Devils. Meanwhile Devils will face: Steelers home and away Panther away Clan away Stars away Blaze home Flames home Giants home I think there's more likely games for Devils to drop points than Steelers. Despite all that, I'm out. I don't think they'll drop enough points and I don't think we'll win every single game. I think we need to battle hard and try and get second to avoid a tough playoff draw, but I'd be looking over our shoulders at Blaze, especially as we need them to do us a favour in Wales.

At the end of the second I couldn’t see us scoring another goal, so taking a point from the game is an ok result. However, to have taken the lead and then let the Blaze back into it, it was very dissapointing. Why we didn’t have Talbot on the ice for that PK at the end I don’t know, he’s by far our best face-off winner and I felt he would have given us the best chance of clearing the zone. Anyway, Coventry are a very good team, they’re dangerous and so tonight proved.
The positive note is we’ve gained a point on Cardiff and Sheffield after this weekend, there’s still plenty of games left and there will be more twists and turns.

As for posting on post game threads i don’t really like to comment much on individual games, otherwise certain posters don’t seem to like it. You’d only say how can i comment if i didn’t watch it.

So why all of a sudden are you posting tonight then? Just asked a question old boy. It was a fairly simple question about a goalie. But as usual,to use your own oft quoted words “ the usual suspects” couldn’t just answer a simple question. That would be because it was me asking the question !

Good platform to build on, good mix of players to keep and see what we can do next season. Certainly in a much better place than a year ago

If we had a zero point weekend we would have Go find me lots of game thread posts then from the previous weeks zero point weekend of two losses and show me where I was being overly critical and commenting on games with Steelers and Flames that I hadn’t seen.

I don't think it was Carr's fault tonight, the first was going well wide until it hit the back of Matheson's leg and went in- nothing Carr can do about that. For the second, he was hung out to dry after a gove away in the corner by Perlini and the third was a very clever finish from Laakkonen to bank it in from the level with the goal line. He should never be beaten there for the 3rd. I once saw Tony Hand pick Trevor Robins' pocket doing exactly that. He scored on the gap between Robins' bent knee and the post. Was maybe 1mm bigger than the puck. Incredible. 8 times out of 10, that play by Laakonen is saved. Frustratingly, last night was one of the 2. Laakonen had the time.
