Well, I never thought I’d be saying this three weeks ago: This could be an embarrassing night for Sheffield. ..... That being said, it’s Steelers and there’s just as much chance of them winning 4-0 with Panthers registering 11 shots. Yes. Let's be careful. Humble pie is a dish no-one wants to eat... Not quite, but a 4 goal spread and heavily outshot.

Before the game everyone was lamenting the Steelers defence and netminder. Funny how that worked out.

Well I didn’t expect that, I thought and hoped you guys would turn them over, I was hoping for a home win, need to turn it around now tomorrow guys. Why would you have wanted us to win today (or tomorrow for that matter)? Far better for Cardiff for a Sheffield win tonight. Poor result, but not terminal.

Very disappointing night at the arena. It seems everyone is in agreement as to where we went wrong, we didn’t match their physicality, we didn’t make it difficult for them in the key areas (especially at the front of the net), we got suckered into taking some daft penalties and they were much more clinical.
There’s no point in calling the refs as we didn’t keep our heads, to say we’ve been pretty disciplined this season it was frustrating to see us lose it tonight.
Our go to forwards, Herr, Perlini and Hansen, were very quiet tonight, Herr in particular didn’t seem involved enough. Not every Panthers player was poor though as I did think that our Connelly played well, as he always does, and was leading the rush, taking players on and looking to make something happen, it’s just a shame that none of the others could follow his lead.
I’m as disappointed as any fan after tonight but all hope is not lost, there’s a lot of hockey to be played and there will be more twists in the run in. We have to see a good response tomorrow in Guildford. We’re still in this.

We got what a very disappointing performance deserved. We tried to play 'the occasion' rather than 'the match'. I think the team let the crowds feelings and desire get to them resulting in a game approach alien to that which has seen us rise up the table. Seemed a case of trying to prove their macho side rather than play our passing style. Complete reversal of the match up in Sheffield just a couple of weeks ago when we dominated from the opening face off. A general observation is that whenever Steelers come to play in Nottingham, be they top, middle or bottom of the standings, they have an ingrained desire to win. They want to beat Panthers for their fans. Down the years it seems Panthers generally lack that same desire on home ice. These games mean so much to the Panthers fans. Will the players be sharing that same hurt this morning ?

Why is it that we roll over and die when faced with the Squealers? I can't really think of any of our players who had a positive impact on last night's game, complete lack of effort all round. Special mention of course to Lachodaisical, there are kids on the carpet for the shoot out competition who put more effort into their 5 minutes than Boring from Beeston has put in for the last few seasons. It really is time to show him the door and spend his wasted wages on someone who actually cares about the game. Lucky Lacho needs to go

Totally ineffective, a forward in name only. Maybe now he's had his testimonial Panthers will get rid. Too late but that's their modus operandi.

Will the players be sharing that same hurt this morning ? Interesting point about playing the occasion. Comment was made on the Steelers podcast after the game tonight that it felt like you were planning your bus parade already last night. Built the game up far too much beforehand and then proceeded to not be able to handle the pressure that came with the big game. Also, the lines were switched up for us to play against Herr. Armstrong played up with Conolly and Vallerand to add that two way play. In fairness, it worked a treat as Herr was totally anonymous all night. Great tactics from the coach ultimately. Kept the lines together tonight too. Our game has changed this weekent, it's defence first. Goals will come even playing that way as proved by the 10 bagged this weekend, with only 3 conceded. You have a nice core to take into next season and GM\Coaching tandem that looks good imo.
