If A) we lose this one it's us that can't hold out and are less of a team than the other three above us. B) We win by the odd goal, we are thus still only trying but are not doing our best. C) We win well....we have had our backsides tanned from Wednesday. D) We lose badly....we need to give up and there is always next season. DOH!
At 1-5 away, I am happy for any travelling - well deserved viewing today.

No i don’t Pidge. I hate the Sheffield Steelers and everything about them with a major passion. Yet you are a yorkshireman! 😉 Yup.....Sheffield even.

OK, I'm calling it, we're winning this one. Brave. Pidge'll tell us how many games Sheffield have won from 4 down in the final 2 minutes in a moment.

Think we will get blown away against Steelers offensive juggernaut. The Grapes Count = Steelers 5 : Panthers 2. Yet another mind blowing prediction. Not being disrespectful, but please stop....this guessing and trying to sound knowledgeable is getting a little embarrassing.

Sack the lot of them. None of them are worth keeping for next season. How can we build a core around this team if they play like that!

Well played Panthers, not only did you do yourself a massive favour, you done that for every other team in the league showing Steelers can be beat, and well beat. That must feel so good for you guys, Steelers were the only consistent team before tonight. Well done guys enjoy tonight.

That result was pretty much what every performance against them should have resulted in. Up to now we have owned them for 80% of all games. Up to now we've managed to throw the games away.
Well done guys. The slightest of glimmers still remains.

Well done guys. The slightest of glimmers still remains. Exactly. We have matched upto them well. We are a good side and if we micro managed games better we would be in the CC final and closer to devils/steelers in the league

This seemed overdue. Panthers have had the better of Steelers for around 85% of their cumulative game time in league action this season and seem like their bogey team, results until tonight notwithstanding.
That being said, they didn’t need to work that hard for it — Steelers were extremely poor, like a hungover Thommo team. No plan B, no defending of any kind (particularly out in front, which has been their problem all season). Neutralise their scoring, and they still concede plenty without much trouble. I don’t doubt other teams will be watching this one back very intently.
Quite a good tonic for what I’ve been maintaining is still an open title race. Cardiff win their games in hand and are top by a point. Panthers now three behind Steelers if they win theirs, and in seasons gone by this has been the type of game that can really ruin a team’s form, especially when so many of Steelers’ wins have come from confident character comebacks in spite of an injury crisis. Looked like they were missing every one of them tonight.

That result tonight has been overdue for a very long time.
We were dominant from start to finish and Sheffield couldn’t get near us. The only real offence zone time they had was when on the PP, when even strength they were constantly looking for the tip in front as they couldn’t break through us, as a team we were so solid defensively and Carr made some important stops, even though he only faced 22 shots!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is no better feeling than winning in that building. At 4-1 I was still a bit twitchy, the refs were calling some real soft ones, and letting some blatant ones go, so you always knew Sheffield were going to get another powerplay, but it didn’t matter. The first goal in the 3rd period was going to decide the game and, after a quiet week for his standards, Herr breaks in and feeds Hansen to seal it. Absolutely brilliant performance.
Another league win on the road. 5 league points from the 6 available in Sheffield. Tousignant impressed, he’s going to be a character. What a difference a few days can make. I love this team!

It certainly throws another grenade in the Carr debate(it appears to have ignited in some places since Wednesday). So frustrating for sure. I noticed some time ago he appears to be slow going side to side, he has shakey games. Then he puts in games like tonight. If he could deliver that 90% of the time as opposed to the 70/80% he does now itd be a no brainer to keep him. His performances down the stretch will be key.

Excellent performance and the Steelers were very poor by their own standards. Different team to last week and obviously a lesson learned.

Better team for 60 minutes. Sheffield looked very ordinary. The officiating was very uneven, never quite sure what was going to be called or let go.

Weird place this for sure at times. In fairness I don’t think it’s out of order to treat a forum primarily as a place to come and share concerns while wondering if others around the fanbase think the same, while a win is something to celebrate in reality with friends. That, and generally there’s less for the sofa expert or anyone else to unpack about a victory than a loss. It can get annoying, for sure, but I don’t think anybody enjoys the negativity, they just need a place to express it when it comes.

A couple of pages is about par for the forum these days. Away games have always been quieter than home games.
Plus you can't really call for Jon Rheault to be shot if he isn't playing.
