All this Carr has played too much doesn't cut it for me. Duba has played every game and is 10 years older! Carr made a bad error on their 4th but that wasn't down to fatigue Was just thinking the same about Duba. It’s no good people moaning about tiredness, they’re most probably the same ones who think the Conti Cup is a good idea.....It’s not it’s a bloody curse ! This team just has too many ineffective players to win a league title.

Problem is we have carried too many forwards who aren't performing and not covered our injuries on defense.

We ain't talking about forwards scoring this is about goalies physically being able to play game after game!

Who else would you put in that category? 2, 7, 17, 28 I’d have to disagree with 2 and 28, I think they’re doing what we expect from them. I’m not saying they can’t be improved upon but IMO they’ve been decent and they’re playing their roles well. 17 is showing some flashes of talent but he obviously could provide more of an impact, especially playing with our two best forwards.

Every league game is massive so I can understand why Carr played but I did think that Whistle would have started considering our next three games are going to be very intense.
Carr’s let in a couple of soft ones tonight and we’ve not been able to get away with it, the team weren’t able to reverse roles and bail him out. He’s been terrific for us this season so I’m not going to slag him off, and looking at the forum nobody has. I think most people wanted him rested today to give him a break, knowing that Whistle can come in and do a job.
We’ve just got to put tonight behind us and not get too low, there’s still plenty to play for this season.

Couple of comments about Flames. Loved the nicknames on the back of the shirts, And thought Shmyr played really well, signed him last week from ECHL,fits in perfectly with their style and systems. Good, available players are out there !

you put fick, lepine and Malmquist there? What!!! Fick has led the team (certainly been top 3) in +/- virtually all year. Malmqvist looked one of our best players last night and has for a while. Gui does what Gui does these days, and does it pretty well, he's a different player to 7 years ago. Lacho will surely leave this summer.

you put fick, lepine and Malmquist there? What!!! Yes Ridiculous. How can a team still in the running for the league carrry 5 wage thieves. Fick takes a lot of stupid penalties but far from a bad player. Malmquist has looked good since being moved to the top line and Lepine has been miles better this year. Looks like he’s had the shackles taken off and being allowed to play physical. I don’t think Lacho is even doing that bad. Not putting up many points but is putting in the graft and contributing more than did a couple of seasons back. It’s just Rheault that simply doesn’t belong here

I would quite like to see the whole d return. Last night was a one off bad night for them

We are severely short on goals and that is why we are struggling.
I did some very quick research last night and found the following. Sheffield have 8 guys with over 10 goals in the league. Cardiff & Blaze have 6, Belfast & Fife with 5, Storm, Clan & Stars with 4 each. Dundee and us have 3 players with more than 10 goals.
Herr - 23 Perlini - 13 Talbot - 11
Talbot has only played 22 games as well.
Hansen is approaching double digits, with 9 so far and Matheson and Bulmer sit on 8. Then it's Betteridge with 7.
We need so much more from our forwards. It was great to see Horvat get two goals last night and I really hope that leads to him getting a bit more ice time and putting more shots on net, he has 3 in 16 so far (Not sure if that includes last night?). I do like his style of play though and I wish we had started the season with a guy like him.
But anyway, when Bulmer is back from injury we need to see more from him. He is currently 37 points behind his end of season total for last season and has 98 less penalty minutes. I know there's a large proportion of the fan base who love him, and I quite like him but when we see what he did with Fife, and sign him as a go-to-guy, it's disappointing.
Golovkovs needs to start producing a bit more too. I remember when Wallace was interviewed whilst he was out injured and he was giving him praise but kept saying how he needed to shoot the puck more. I think he has started to shoot a little bit more but we really need him to start taking his chances. 4 goals in 26 so far.
I think we'll be in with a shot at the title for much longer if we can just start scoring some goals. I don't think we're bad defensively and bar this game last night, Carr has been pretty solid. Sort out the scoring and I think we'll be fine. If we don't, we won't. It isn't long until the transfer window closes and I'll be very disappointed if we don't bring in someone.

Just my opinion 👍🏻

Can't argue against his. In fact it wouldn't concern me if none of the D (except Matheson) don't return. Right now we’re second in goals conceded per game, I think that would suggest that the defence isn’t the problem. Our lack of firepower and a poor powerplay are the problems.

They are part of a team that aside from last night is battling hard to get wins when we're down on bodies and playing a lot of matches

I've been saying this for weeks. Without Herr and our D scoring we would be propping up Fife. Score goals and it takes pressure off the entire team in loads of ways plus it changes how your opposition plays against you. I like ALL of our mid season signings this year and I like the fact that we have gone back to North American guys and style of play. The penny finally dropped. I'm liking the new version of Golovkovs a lot more now but Bulmer is way too hot and cold and Rheault wouldn't keep his job in the lower league. Without goals it just isn't going to work. Also, Carr is good when he's good and stinks when he's bad. He's having to keep us in games when we struggle to score but personally at the end of the season I would upgrade on him too. It's not that difficult to work out that score for fun and you are laughing all the way to the league title at this point but we are not.

This is a guy who will be a top end earner with a Uni deal and who’s played approx 500 games in the AHL/DEL/EBEL and Swiss B His stats this year are bloody shocking......48 games and he’s scored 5+9

Lepine is miles better than he was last season, no longer a wage theif as he is actually helping the team imo. Malmquist has been getting better and better through the season for me, starting to do more while having the puck rather than just passing for shooting.

To be honest Pidge i tend to agree with you its about quality and imho Duba is just plain better than Carr although on the whole i believe Carr has done a pretty reasonable job for the panthers considering what someone of his quality would have cost...
This season for panthers fans is a little different to the normal pattern where we are pretty much out of it by xmas and given the fan unrest a couple of ringers are generally brought in around now to appease the fanbase to make up for the lack of money spent from the beginning of the season. This season again i dont think the money has been spent as much as our so called rivals (how can they be rivals when you dont compete financially with them but hey ho) but we have seemed to have had a battling side albeit with enough quality up front. To see still in the race regardless of how much an outside chance it is is quite incredible shame that the club is doing its usual penny pinching trick and not bringing in cover when it is needed the most i.e. the end of the season..
