Lacho is pointless and too many chances missed. When you are on top, you need to score. Too many times we don’t.

Bottled it again- no high pressure hits - no passion - standard half assed effort. Not like the big hitting teams that used to wear the jersey

Lacho and Malmquist- have no idea what they bring to the team. Horvat needs to be on a different line
We should have won that

Overall I think we played pretty well - I've said it in other threads before, its our depth (or specifically Brit depth) that is the main reason we're not quite there with the likes of Cardiff or Shuff. We've lost Clarkie and Farmer over the last couple of seasons and not replaced them, instead just bumping Lacho and Ollie up the lineup and filling in their 4th line roles with Kelsall and Hazeldine. Compare that to Cardiff who have Myers and Batch on their 4th line, and Shuff who have Phillips.
Hopefully Doucet makes it a priority to grab at least one established Brit off another team this summer

Burned out in third I thought after dominating first and second. Game should of been over at 40 mins. The 1st period was pivotal unfortunately, we were all over them and we didn’t have anything to show for it. They get the scruffy goals, as they always do, and we don’t seem to be able to. Two of their goals were face-off goals which is very disappointing to see on our part. I did feel that some players were trying to overplay it and look for the perfect goal, Bulmer being one of the main culprits. The amount of opportunities that he wastes in the high slot is unbelievable. I did think the effort was there tonight but we just don’t seem to look for the gritty goals, tips, rebounds, etc. Sheffield sat off us and absorbed the pressure and we just couldn’t get that third goal. I’m going to try and be positive now. Sheffield won’t play tomorrow like they did tonight, they’ll be looking to take the game to us, and they will give us a lot more odd man rushes than we had tonight, we’ve seen already this season that this is the case. Also, it was good to see that we were disciplined tonight, we must try and stay the same tomorrow. One final positive, in the league we’ve won our last 6 away from home. The boys can hold their heads high going into tomorrow.

You can’t dominate like we did in the first and not score. That’s where we lost. No place for Guptill on the team yet there is for Bobby the golden passport from Beeston. Weird.

It's not really Lachowicz's fault that the club have jaffed up the British contingent in recent years, leaving him entirely required.

They’ve got no balls - that’s the issue. Did they blood and guts want it? No!

It's not really Lachowicz's fault that the club have jaffed up the British contingent in recent years, leaving him entirely required. Very much so. He shouldn't be any way near the 3rd line. I called out our forward depth before the game and the point still stands. Add Perlini and a top import to replace Rheault and its entirely different. As it stands we have Malmquist and Golovkos as top 6 forwards. Malmquist has done well stepping up but Golovkos should not be anyway near the top 6. Not going to be down on the team. Not calling for players to be gassed. It was a performance where we did everything but score enough goals. Thats what the games about though so...

It is a problem when you have a roster with 3 Brits who effectively aren't in the mix in matches, like this. We could have done better with some chances and perhaps some of the bounces of the puck were a bit unkind. Overall we played arlight, but needed to move up a notch. After all you cannot expect Herr to keep pulling a rabbit out of the hat.

We could have should have been 3-0 up at the end of the 1st but some horrendous finishing when it mattered stopped that happening.
Steelers ground that out and we weren't good enough to break down their tight defence in the end. We looked gassed by the 3rd.
So frustrating as it was a text book game against them this season,we start well then tail off and they end well and get the 2 points.

Goals win ice hockey games. Sadly we missed the opportunities and Steelers didn’t. Simple really.

Given his play in Coventry on Saturday night id say hes developed colour blindness too. He is far to inconsistent & overrated for me. It's clear as others have said we lack quality British players. Who would have thought that would be the case just a few seasons back?. Clarkes retirement & last seasons player unrest hasnt helped (Farmer & Lee) Golovkovs is quick & has good hands but is entirely predictable in the plays he attempts to make As far the game itself it was a typical Panthers/steelers game, them doing just enough to win. Once they equalised they stepped it up a gear. Good to see we didnt mentally give in though and kept plugging away to the end - something that hasnt always happened in recent seasons. We desperately need to bring in quality Brits in the summer if aany are available that is. We certainly cant afford to lose Perlini

What a totally frustrating game, you can tell what’s going to happen against Steelers before it even happens, go all out in the first but can’t convert a single chance, knackered by the 3rd and they turn us over every bloody time. Bulmer shocking can’t pass & can’t score . Lacho the less said the better. Why aren’t we rolling 4 lines too many players logging big minutes and looking tired out. They snuffed Herr out just like Coventry did on Saturday and we had no backup plan. So disappointing .
