I like hockey in The SkyDome. The crowd close to the action. Think Danny Stewart will have the Blaze 'smokin' for this one. But, I see big performances from Matheson ( my personal MVP so far ) and in nets resulting in a narrow road win. The Grapes Count = Blaze 2 : Panthers 3 in overtime.

Somehow I think that Herr might be getting more attention from Coventry now

Is there going to be a stream for this game?

DeSantis returns to line up tonight, with Rheault sitting it out. Perlini and Gospel also scratched.

That is a big change from last season, where it always seems to be OT loss

We absolutely bossed that 3rd period and deserved the equaliser. we won't talk about the 2nd period they had us on the backhand. a point a piece was about right. what a bullet from Talby to win the game. Blaze fans less than happy with that result.... never mind

Very well done Panthers and what a great goal by Ollie too It has to be said... Ollie Betteridge is steadily getting better and better... he has a lot of potential and so far is looking good for achieving every bit of that potential.

It has to be said... Ollie Betteridge is steadily getting better and better... he has a lot of potential and so far is looking good for achieving every bit of that potential. He gives 100% every single shift. Absolutely... his effort levels are consistent - consistently 100%. Fast skating, good physicality, and you can see his skills improving all of the time. Not so sure about being "the" (singular) heartbeat... but certainly one of them. Somewhat to my surprise, Sam Herr does seem to be showing obvious leadership out there on the ice. Wearing the 'C' is a leadership function, but quite often it isn't totally apparent to us fans - as I understand it, most of a captain's work is done out of our sight. All too often, a good captain gets criticised by many fans because they just don't see what he does. Sam Herr, on the other hand, definitely leads by example... not just skills, but effort as well. In a very real sense, if we had to narrow it down to one player, I would definitely say that Herr appears to be the heartbeat of the team (from what little we can see).

Herr is the best player/captain/leader I have seen for as long as I can remember and as a HUGE Fox fan I never thought I would see a better version. It's still 2019 and he already bleeds black and gold

Character in abundance these guys have. Don’t quit on themselves and don’t stop believing that they can turn it around
I tweeted this but Talbot is a huge part of our game. Herr will get the headlines but Talbot scores 3 this weekend, was on the ice for both OT goals and a huge part of that 4 minute kill at the end.
Coventry are a very good hockey team. Danny Stewart has put together a good team over there

Another huge result and a lot of character shown in the face of adversity to get the win. It’s been a great Christmas for the first time in a while!
You could give plaudits to every player tonight but I’m going pick one who has quietly gone about his business for a while and that’s Lepine. He looks a totally different player this season, I don’t know if it’s a case of him adjusting to the league and playing in a better team but he looks quicker and much more confident and composed on the puck. Here’s hoping he keeps it going!
Carr was immense again, he came in clutch with the Penalty Shot save, that was a massive turning point tonight.
One final point, it’s funny that the Blaze fans felt the need to boo the refs off the ice at the end. Obviously they were biased in giving us the two power-play chances all game. We’ll ignore the fact the Blaze had a two-minute power-play, 2 four-minute power-plays and a Penalty shot though... Dry your eyes Blaze fans.

Two very good wins against a free scoring side with some of the better snipers in the league. Talbot has been a great pickup and I’m happy for him to grab the OT winner tonight. I like vast swathes of this group, which I haven’t been able to say for a long time. I hope Gui can keep a core together and build upon it because it has a lot of potential.
Two massive games against Sheffield coming up.

I think it's only fair to call out Lepine after the critisism he got last season. He does indeed seem a different player. Some chunks of the game we were under the pump and some periods were a bit scrappy but at other times we really piled it on, especially in the 3rd. It certainly would have been unjust for us to come away with nothing I felt. For the first time in a few years I can feel optimistic going into the last few minutes of a game behind. We often used to pop in late winners/equalisers but the last few years its happened less and less. As for Cov being upset at the officials 😂😂. The call on Sam Herr at the end was a poor one. I think the Cov player caused it himself. You can usually tell by the reaction of a player, certainly one like Herr who doesn't lose it very often. He was livid, and to be honest he must have been very close to a misconduct. Great 2 points on the road. Currently 7 & 2 in the league during December. Let's finish it in style. 🤞
