Gonna be a shame when he moves on at the end of the season.. theres not a cat in hells chance Panthers have the financial package to retain him! They could pay him £3k a week if they wanted Pidge and they wouldn’t miss it in the grand scheme of things.

He’s way too good for this league.

I’ve not seen anything like that since the days of Rick Brebant when he won us a game or two on his own back. Herr is a genius. The other 18 should give him their wages cos Herr deserves them all and some. 50 minutes of total dross, followed by the Herr magic show. All this after the total farce of the shirts!

I agree, I was thinking here we go again, however we won. I'm wondering if we would have to offer a uni place to keep Herr, but remember that save Carr made after it was 3-3. That was never a penalty on Mathewson. Coming back from behind twice is what we want to do to Sheffield.

Agree about Mattheson that was a joke call, along with many of the mystifying non icing calls 🤔

The REAL miracle at Christmas! Best personal performance I have ever seen in the modern era by a long way. Herr single handedly won the game!
First period: Shirt auction fiasco (shirts in dirty white must surely just be a test of how stupid auction bidders are) Second period: Just terrible Third period & Overtime: Herr vs Blaze (and the Blaze lost)
Bulmer: Needs to be scoring a LOT more goals and a lot more regular Golovkovs: Good skater, good hands but a waste of space. Great putting in mega minutes at a bottom club but in his role now 100 miles out of his depth Rheault: Utter wage thief
Without Herr we would be looking up the table to see the Dundee Stars.

They won't even offer him 1k a week and I'm not joking Maybe not mate, but what I don’t get is why Panthers would seem happy to throw a reported £2k a week at a waste of space like Mcgrattan but never seem to want to pay the biggish bucks to a huge difference maker like Herr. Just look at today’s game,Panthers would have coined in around £100k today on a 7000 crowd from tickets alone. There is no reason whatsoever why they couldn’t offer Herr big bucks to try keep him for next year. Sure they’ll improve his package but by enough ? I doubt it.

Golovkovs has 12 points in 18 games, decent for a 3rd liner who isn't expected to be a go-to player. Bulmer has been one of the best forwards over the last few weeks and has looked very dangerous. The team were poor tonight but i think they've had a decent first half of the season.

Money talks and we will be comfortably outbid by many teams in leagues far superior to the EIHL. There's a couple of teams in our league that will outbid us as well.... But he may well be two years EIHL protected already.

Both nm got assists in the game. Meanwhile in Sheffield, Deluca scores 4+3 in a 7-0 demolition of Manchester.

My fleeting optimism that we could challenge this year has now completely dissipated. Us and Steelers are both at home to teams in the bottom half. Steelers are 4-0 up and we can't even pass to players in the right colour Jersey (and it's substantially easier now) and are chasing shadows, 3-1 down. Sam Herr makes me believe again.

At 59.14 it is mentioned in the 'goalies changes section'(my fave part of the GRS.NOT)....That something happened? At this time we scored, the only player to have time off the ice seems to be our goalie in Carr, is this correct?
Like I say you can't gather from these sheets what actually happened. The sheet appears to show we scored on a powerplay to level the scores at 4-4.
Their netminder has 60 mins shown as time played in the game. I'll wager he did play in the OT period so did he come off at 59.14....and thus when did we? See what I mean.

So at 58.38 we started without Carr till the goal was scored I assume at 59.14 , which is the 36 seconds difference...ta spence. They have just omitted the OT period for both goalies then. Another error. I'll add 32 seconds onto Carr's time then.

What a player Sam Herr is, easily the best player in the league imo.
To all the doomsayers who think we won’t keep him, why can't you just enjoy his talent now and see what happens come the end of the season? He’s good enough to play in better leagues than ours where he can earn a hell of a lot more money than we can offer, there’s no point worrying about it, we just have to trust Doucet will try his best to keep him.
Anyway what a strange game. The kit clash was a joke and it must have affected the players. Overall, Herr carried us to the victory and I don’t think we deserved it. We seemed to be stuck in our previous ways of endlessly cycling the puck (Bulmer and Golovkovs the main culprits), having all the possession but not threatening their net, reluctancy to send a puck through traffic from the point. It was frustrating viewing up until the 50 minute mark.
We got the luck that gave Herr the chances, but he still had to finish them and he did, he was clinical. You have to admire the character of the team after going 3-4 down with 2 mins to go and getting another equaliser. The last 10 minutes and OT were brilliant and saved the game in reality. It feels nice to get a victory on Boxing Day though.

Is this a new kit for chrisbo then? Any photos close up?
And while I am at it. No Annual this year or calendar or have I just not been informed by my contacts as I collect these items?

There is a calendar and annual. I've seen tweets advertising them. Link: www.panthers.co.uk/home/191226-bundleThe Christmas kit was a "classic" in all the wrong ways: It does look nice, but maybe don't wear it when the opposition are wearing white! Clearer picture of the design in the article. Link: www.panthers.co.uk/home/191223-charity-shirts
