I have often been a critic of Perlini but think his current absence highlights the old saying about not appreciating the true value of a player until they are missing from the team. Think his performance level this term is his best in a Panthers jersey.

Wallace does have a headache though when Perlini returns, as Malmquist has been excellent in his place on that line. It will be interesting to see how the forwards line up.

A problem Panthers haven’t had much the last few seasons...

A problem Panthers haven’t had much the last few seasons... It's a nice problem to have... Bearing in mind that none of us are coaches, so are speaking from a position of almost-total ignorance... my inclination would be to let Malmquist stay where he is, if it's working for him. You've got to think that Perlini has more experience (and talent?) and should therefore be able to make a good go of it on another line...

You get the impression that Tim thinks highly of Malmquist and he’ll give him the opportunity to continue his good form. When Perlini comes back he could easily slot into a line with Horvat and Betteridge, our top 3 lines would have some good scoring depth then.
