Okay - time for home redemption after the Storm result. Dundee will be well organised as is any Pacha side but we have loads more talent. Let's Go Panthers. The Grapes Count = Panthers 4 : Stars 1.

Surely the dire December home league form can’t continue tonight...........can it? Doesn’t look like there’ll be many attending to witness it which is hardly surprising given the aforementioned current form and Christmas around the corner. Off to the pub instead, the thought of another 2 hours being ‘entertained’ at the NIC doesn’t ‘grab me’ Panthers to win 4-2 (hopefully). 🤞

Nice to finally take a team to task at home in the League. Dundee were really poor but we took our chances well and were pretty sound defensively. Malmquist is really improving rapidly. Connelly put on a clinic tonight.
Herr is the best signing we’ve had in years. Must follow it up tomorrow.

Wasn’t at the game but you have to think that if malmquist keeps working away and playing how he is next season should he return he’ll be a whole next level by then

Looks like Pacha has walked straight into Wallace’s shoes from last year. Something far from right there. Dundee were very very poor which was perfect for us to stretch our legs and get some home confidence back.
Herr, not only is he an outstanding player he already bleeds Panthers and how rare is that???
Oh, and The rules on goal reviews are just ridiculous.

Easy win tonight, nice to have a relaxing game without worrying we will throw it away. Bulmer looks a totally different player to early weeks he seems quicker every game.
First Saturday game in ages and the usual drunken idiots reappear in the crowd,up and down the stairs during play and giving a mouthful when challenged by people asking them to sit down.

Not great quality, but looks like the Stars goal has a blatant high stick not called (and I thought so at the time).
My understanding (from the NHL) was that you couldn't review earlier infractions (high sticks, hand passes, etc...), just whether the final touch was legal. The EIHL rules however are vague.
(go to 0:20 for the Stars goal)

Solid performance, we dominated the 2nd period and put the game to bed with a period to go. It’s good to see a big win at home, it could have been more with the quality chances we had.

For the first time in a long time it was good to see us dominate a league game. Granted the opposition were not much cop but all to often we end up playing down to their level so a refreshing change for us to do what we should.
Games like this offer interesting view points on how different people watch the game and I picked up on a couple of these following the game:
Connolly- some days he put on a master class. Apart from his brilliantly taken goal I thought he was poor by his usual standards. Over skating the puck, giving away turnovers and missing passes that should be basic to him.
Bulmer- someone told me he had a stinker whereas I interpreted his game as being heavily involved, carving out chances and having the influence on a game I believe we all hoped at the start of the season.
It’s been good to see that Malmquist is now having some production to back up his hard work from earlier this season.
Hansen had arguably his worst performance for us. he was trying to force the puck too much and was wasteful for the most part in front of goal but still bagged 1+3... go figure!
We will be running out of superlatives for Herr and Matheson before too long. Signings of the season for us without question!
I thought we’d give whistle some time in the 3rd with us being so comfortable but the shutout being broken so I wouldn’t be surprised if he started tonight.
Hopefully we get the job done again tonight to get our run of 7 fixtures over the festive period off to a perfect start!

As you say, different perspectives. I thought Bulmer was back to his early season form. On the puck a lot but trying too many fancy plays, but you're right about Matheson and Herr, when they play well, the team plays well. Connelly I'm still not sure about, took his goal well but I'd like to see more of him, and Desantis going forward. Didn't see much of Horvat. Another point, Beauregard looks one of their better players but was on the ice for 5 of our goals and in the box for the 6th.
