Gautier did the whole punching on the floor thing last year to Aaron Johnson and got 0 games. Although I remember Byers getting 1 game for it last year too. Byers was also TMI and also got done for not stopping when told to.

Have to stick my nut above the parapet here and say I feel the Connolly thing is six of one. The highlights make it look like he was mostly giving gloved rabbit punches and violent cajoling, which were neither Bertuzzi-esque nor a simple major call. I think 5+G is mostly right but wouldn’t have been surprised by a match penalty. More than that might’ve been a push, but keep in mind that DOPS will be anxious about establishing a workable yardstick from the first weekend, especially if future games get even tastier, so probably went with leniency for precedent’s sake if the league’s newest characters will live up to their reputations going forward.

Interesting ruling on the Gagnon vs Davies Incidents www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/255-suspensions-for-michael-davies-and-mathieu-gagnonDavies: 1 Game for Slew footing 3 Games for Wiping his face with Gagnon glove and discarding it 2 Games for Repeat offender Gagnon: 2 Games for a one-man fight 3 Games for throwing his helmet across the ice. Honestly the Helmet and Glove things seem overblown. The slew footing, one-man fight and repeat offender seem warranted IMHO.

The Gagnon ban is a joke. 3 games for throwing his helmet. 😂 That was nothing more than the old throw it away after the fight. Davies adds up a bit wierd but not far off right. Sounds ott but you cant go spreading blood around needlessly. Spread of disease and infection etc.

I'm kind of ambivalent on the helmet suspension... he definitely deserves one - 3 games maybe a tad too much? A helmet isn't exactly a minor thing to chuck at someone, but it appears to have just been chucked out in frustration at nobody in particular. The glove thing on the other hand - definitely deserves 3 games. Not only is it disrespectful and stupid (wiping a used glove with all sorts of sweat, snot and who-knows-what on it onto an open wound? - DUMB!) but also with the understandable caution these days about contact with other people's blood... it's reckless, as well as effectively removing another player's equipment from use. This plus the goal-peg incident... well, he'll fit in right well up at the Rusty Hut... Agree with you completely on the rest.

That Davies is definitely a few sandwiches short of a you know what!
On top of that a total liability to his team!

Then read this:- Sheffield StarDoes anyone here see anything more than a surface resemblance between the two? Pathetic...

Oh dear Sheffield Star That’s one of the most one sided biggest loads of tripe I think I’ve ever read. No mention of Davies’s slew foot,or wiping his blood on Gagnon’s glove. That’s an embarrassing article. 🙄

Jesus that maybe the worst thing i've ever read. Bob Westerdale and that paper come out with some absolute rubbish. As pointed out above nothing mentioned about the slew foot or the glove. Jono was right in his periscope about people of a Steelers persuasion being more hypocritical than most and thinking they're whiter than white

Mmmm Bet Griffith’s is just thankful he didn’t end up with a brain injury too from Vallerwand. 😏

Hang on, one minute "Davies had a blooded nose afterwards but nothing worse." the next minute "I still have little head and neck issues, but I am happy I didn't come out with a brain injury, that is more important than anything." Best ignored, I think.

Panthers aren't petty enough/ are too tight to pay for reviews.

I mean it’s an elbow...does anyone really think a ban is coming? It’s a 2 minute minor at worse

What’s the likelihood off Connolly getting a ban after injuring Deutsch?

What’s the likelihood off Connolly getting a ban after injuring Deutsch? The same likelihood (none) as Lepine getting a ban for injuring Vallerand

I'm staggered that we havn't asked for a review considering the injury caused. In the old days I wouldn't complain as Id expect somebody to take care of it on the ice next game. These days I doubt that will happen either.
