Even if Steelers beat Cardiff twice .. the devils still in driving seat. The run ins ain't much different. Excluding when Devils and Steelers play each other... Steelers: Home and away vs Storm (7th) Hone and away vs Stars (9th) Devils Away vs Stars (9th) Away vs Clan (8th) Away vs Panthers (3rd) Home vs Flames (6th) Home vs Giants (4th) Home vs Blaze (5th) Home vs Storm (7th) In what world isn't Devils run in significantly harder?

This stage of the season I don't expect them to lose any games at home with the players they have and most of them have been here before and know what it takes. The away games against clan and stars should be straight forward as well.

Big step towards the title for Cardiff tonight, and a bit of a marker for the cup final too.

If I was to put percentages to the titles destination, I'd say
90% Cardiff 5% Sheffield 3% Panthers 2% Blaze
If Devils lose the title, I think it would be the biggest choke in EIHL history.

Agreed, Cardiff look to have one hand on the title now. There’s still a lot to play for though in the league, ideally we need to finish 2nd as a POQF against either Coventry or Guildford will be really testing. On another note, it’s always good to see Sheffield get their backsides handed to them. As free scoring as they might be, I’m glad we don’t have a team like theirs, too many rats and not enough guts.

It’s in our hands now, as it was last season and we know what happened there, last night the Devils were really good and Steelers were lucky to only conceed 7, we played a physical game, and they don’t like that. Sandstrom was off his head wanting Riley who obliged and handed him his rump on a plate. Just hope for the same result Sunday, if we don’t win it, then I would like it to go to you guys, it’s been a little while and would be good for the league.

I sincerely believe that our best game beats any other teams best game in our league. We are so close to being a great side, we just lack in a couple of areas. Penalty shots is one. Ultimately we are not Continental Cup winners because of it. Three wins. We are just three wins away from being level at the top with you guys. Our form against Sheffield this season has cost us those three wins.

Wasn’t that last year? They need to 11/16 from their last 8 to guarantee mathematically victory. If Panthers fail to win EVERY game in regulation they can make do with 10/16. Last year was funny but it was losing a one off game. At this point they'd need to fall apart for several games. It's not just in their hands, they've stuck it in their pocket and are walking out the room whistling a particularly apt Queen song.

I agree, our failure to turn up when playing playing Sheffield at home has been a big let down (0 points from 6 available) but on the other hand, our away form to them has been great (5 points from 6). Guildford, however, have really cost us. We’ve taken 2 points from 10 available so far this season against them, those 2 points were at the very start of the season, then they’ve beaten us four times in a row in the league. I’d say they’re the team who’ve really hurt us this season.

I do agree with you, but at least that initial team managed to beat Guildford in the league!😂 Strange how it’s worked out against them this season. Another downfall of ours this season has been our home form, we’ve taken more points on the road than we have at the NIC. That’s strange for any team but especially so for us, as in previous seasons we’ve always struggled more so on the road.

Be interesting to see how the Belfast double header goes next week,it doesn’t normally go very well. Have Panthers ever taken 4 points from one of these,or even 3 points ?

Completely agree about finishing at least 2nd. Dundee, Glasgow, Manchester or Fife won't be easy but certainly better than the alternatives.

Coventry move above us, albeit having played a game more.

Yorkies 3-1 up, in the second.
I'm right in thinking this is on Premier, rather than Free, sports?
