Awaiting the start of the season but nail your colours to the mast now. Who are your pick as regular season champions ? For me, the Giants will retain their crown chased all season long by the dreaded Big Orange Machine.

1. Belfast 2. Sheffield 3. Cardiff 4. Glasgow 5. Nottingham 6. Guildford 7. Coventry 8. Fife (based of where they can come recently, not enough players to fully predict) 9. Manchester 10. Dundee

The bottom six could be anything really, top 4 will be our lot though.

You could well be right, Fitz is a first time coach though (then again so is Wallace more or less).
I think there'll be a clear top 3, but I'd still expect us to be best of the rest. We may make changes if it's going pear shaped this year too.

Makes for pretty depressing reading this. A Panthers forum, before a puck has been dropped and not a single fan has us finishing any higher than 4th! A sad state of affairs really.
As for a prediction...
1/2/3 Any of Giants, Devils, Steelers.
4/5/6 Any of Panthers, Clan, Flames.
7/8/9 Any of Blaze, Storm, Flyers.
10 Stars.

They top line should put up a decent amount more points than our with a healthy Roy on the second line with 2 others(who look standard players yet no worse than ours) I think their offence is better looking. Who knows how fitzy will do but he has recruited well.

I expect us to be the quickest in the league.. hopefully we are quick in transition which can catch teams out

Very depressing reading season is pretty well written off before a puck is dropped and purely down to splashing the cash on better players (or in nottm's case not)... this is the problem with signing quality players over those that are claimed wait and see...wait and see may well come good but they come cheaper and I don't see anyone putting any money on it working.... Especially when we are supposed to be the richest club in the country, I guess you don't become the richest club in the country by spending the money on players to win stuff... As for league table.. So far ive got Belfast and Cardiff neck and neck with Belfast edging it again being closely chased by Sheffield.. 4th 5th and 6th are likely to be clan, flames and panthers although I think these 3 will drop points to those below them which is why they will be 4th, 5th and 6th whereas I don't think the top 3 will.... Below this is anyones guess although I think fife are likely to come top of the rest with Dundee propping up the rest...

Of our wait and see players I'm sure 1-2 will shine and others not -that’s why we are likely to finish 4-8th. Despite all the debate on here, proven players win trophies. After all the contrasting opinions, everyone is picking the same 1-3 for a reason. In the profit making table we will be grand slam winners! You win some you lose some.

This is a rebuild season as long as fans go in with that expectation we could have a good season. I will be very surprised if we win anything.
I hoping we get a culture change out of this season. That Wallace can bring in the hard working ethic and we're fun to watch again. The other thing i wants is we find some gems that we can then build a team around. Panther just dont retain good imports for multiple seasons and its a problem.
But make no mistake we're playing for forth.

It’s just a little frustrating seeing this roster being put out by the best supported team in the country after 1 title in nearly 40 seasons. I’d love to predict success but think we will be bottom half and make changes when we are out of the title to keep attendances up for the run in. Stab in the dark I know but hey...

As long as every player puts a shift in and we play good hockey.. no complaint from me. Give Wallace plenty of time to mould the team into how he wants to play.
If we finish 4th and 5th but theres scope for something to build on next year so beit

I think both Malmquist and Golovkovs will surprise a few people.

Worries me already as the season has not started and it does not seem to give fans the heart to be right behind the club as yet. Hoping (as usual) that the team proves us all wrong and we have much to cheer about. Champions....not us is always a good bet.
