Another wait and see
Could be a gem, interesting to see that he's chosen us over the Wild?!

Not entirely sure what to think I don’t want to say this, but I felt a little bit underwhelmed, but I don’t want that to sound as though it’s a knock at the player. Welcome to Nottingham!

The kid has a lot of potential, and hopefully Tim and Gui can bring some of it out of him.
To sign the kid a few weeks after he attended the Minnesota Wild's development camp, with top prospects and others.. that's pretty awesome. He's quick apparently too and very offensively minded.
When it comes down to it, it is definitely a wait and see but being his first season pro after being touted as a decent prospect for the last few years.. hopefully we see him take the opportunity with both hands.

No pro CV. As wait and see as they come. NCAA division one so top tier college hockey.
Could end up anywhere on the spectrum of EIHL success. Welcome to Nottingham. Hope he rips it up.
I do hope it's a sign we will be signing spares too though.

NCAA isn’t a joke and neither is scoring 30 points in it. A wildcard of a signing that could work or go wrong for a whole lot of reasons. Let’s hope it’s the former.

It's a tough one. He's not got the leagues on his CV we're used to so I'm not sure what to make of his stats.
That said, you dont wear the 'A' if you're a nobody, he's got youth on his side and his production has improved year on year.

This kid has come from top level NCAA, he’ll be good believe me. I work at the friendship four in Belfast every year, the standard is the best I’ve seen live outside the NHL. This is a very good signing.

I thought this 'take a chance' type of signing was usually done by Coventry, MK, Dundee etc. Not what i expected when we most people are expecting proven quality players. Still, you never know...

Looks potentially excellent... As others has stated NCAA div one is really high 'level wise' for the age group. Having an 'A' as well denotes he has to be a good charater.
Can't help wonder how we've got him if he is going to be 'that good' though.
A 'wait and see' signing if ever there was one.
All the best to him.

22 years old and straight out of college.
I bet the bars and bunnies can not wait.
Exciting pick-up for us playing wise, if the distractions don't prove too much!

Listed as amongst the top 20 free agents coming out of NCAA this summer.
the majority of the company on the list alongside him have already signed contracts with either NHL or AHL teams.
This kid has the potential to be a gem, played for a top college in division 1, and no slouch when it comes to scoring points. Worn an A.
Hopefully an under the radar signing but one i'm quietly excited about.
Just like all of the signings this summer regardless of CV, they are all wait and see to some extent

Can't help wonder how we've got him if he is going to be 'that good' though. Very much this for me. The NCAA is really good, competitive stuff though and his stats are impressive, so will be interesting to see how he gets on over here.

Certainly not the expected type of signing. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing. Though I do remember a quote a few years ago that the big 3 (as it was then) couldn't afford to take the risk of signing a guy straight out of college... Potentially a very good signing. But Potential is just that until it can be harnessed. Welcome to Nottingham Dylan. Another young player & another who has been an A or a C previously... And another with a connection to Tim Wallace. Here is a scouting report on him.. and a taste of hopefully what to expect futureconsiderations.ca/player/dylan-malmquist/

Don't know what to make of of it to be honest. He may have a lot of potential but i doubt we will get to see it fulfilled. If he proves to be a success he'll most likely move onto bigger and better things and if not then its a gamble that hasn't paid off. We seem to have a lot of "tidy" young players in our forwards but we are still looking a bit lightweight in terms of goals and physicality so far. Need a couple of proven quality forwards now IMO. Not mid to late 30's ex-NHLers but from top euro leagues between 28-31

I'm sure it's not easy just comparing stats at that age but as a guide his final year of NCAA hockey looks more or less on a par with Dylan Richard (30pts from 40 games v 23 from 35) with both playing for sides eliminated at the Regional Finals. He looks to be joining a growing squad of decent looking 3rd liners.

Hard to read. Similar NCAA points to Perlini and Reault. If he co.es over witb a point to prove he cod be great. If he just wants to see the world a travel less so.
Still not the nerve settler signing we need. Big preasure on the last few to be quality.

The reason why this is unexpected is that most fans expect teams in this league to sign washed up 30 something journeyman!

This is a very good signing. I don’t have any knowledge of the structure or quality of NA college hockey but It’s good to have some insight from somebody who does. I hope he turns out to be a star, what can we realistically expect though, a top 6 forward?

I appreciate that TW/GD have got a plan in mind & are recruiting to that style (so they say) but I feel like I’m really missing something with some of these signings. More than happy to be surprised by them but I just don’t see it right now. We look well behind Shef, Card & Belf.
As for the “he’s just attended the Wild’s camp” as if it’s a great sign, whilst this is a decent note it doesn’t guarantee success and there’ll be reasons why AHL, ECHL & top European teams have overlooked him.

I've no idea. But he's young and hopefully keen. Again, hope that those making the decisions are getting what they wanted. Come the season they and the fans will find out.

Im in the same boat. I have way behind on paper. The defence looks ok. But we look short of goals.
