NEw York Yankees played Boston Red Sox at the London Stadium over the weekend, the first regular season league games played outside the USA. Near capacity crowds of 60000+ attended both games, which saw wins for the Yankees 17-13 and 12-8, high scoring games for the MLB. This was partly attributed to shorter than usual center field lines, but also poor pitching displays by both teams. Anyway, that's MLB,NBA and NFL all regularly playing games in the UK. Maybe the GB team's performances at the World Championships will encourage the NHL to test the London market again.

London series 2020 between The Cubs and The Cardinals has been cancelled. Disappointing for those, like me, who had tickets, but entirely understandable. Even if the MLB manage to start their season with a likely shortened season, the restrictions on international travel would mean the teams are unlikely to want to travel.
