Ok everyone, why does the Cage forum double up sentences on my Tapatalk? The Steelers forum doesn’t. Cheers

Seems to be struggling with the URLs. The mobile site is pretty good these days.

I would love him here but he is 26 so I guess he’d be wanting to take steps up in his career.

Tommy Hughes could be back in the EIHL for 2019/20 but not with Nottingham. Started last season very impressively but his play dropped off as the season progressed. Could be a good fit in Belfast under Adam Keefe.

I liked Hughes, and is in a similar mould to what we need right now - i'd have him back
A good 2-way Dman, who hits like a truck, is dependable, no nonsense and makes a good first pass

Hughes would be a decent re-signing and would add some solidity to our defence, plus he’s a righty, which we need.

Hughes is only one of 3 players that were offered a contract, Surely we would have heard by now if they had accepted? Although they were offered before Doucet was officially announced whether he knew about them or not is another question.

Is Roy maybe coming to Nottingham? He is signing for someone in EIHL but not Steelers. This is according to Daily Star in Sheffield so maybe take with a pinch if salt. Would you take him?

Head and shoulders the best D man last year for me, even if his "form" (objectively measured by +/-) dropped a bit at the end of the year. He was so far in front, the rest could barely see him. See below. These 2 have just been released by Sparta Prague. www.eliteprospects.com/player/35624/zach-sillwww.eliteprospects.com/player/19181/steven-delisleDelisle looks in a similar mould to Hughes. I also trust someone has told the Panthers organisation about these offers as well...!?

Really Interesting graph that Hughes kept it together whilst everyone else was out at sea, then jumped overboard just as everyone clambered back on! Just to add, did his nosedive in form start to plummet after Cherno left...?

Chernomaz was sacked on the 16th of January I think, if anything Hughes +- goes through the roof initially after that then tails off. I liked Hughes, would be absolutely quality if he had a partner in a mould like him, even of lesser ability. Didn't pick up many penalties either really, used his frame well to defend.

Just to add, did his nosedive in form start to plummet after Cherno left...? Good question. Hughes was +18 in 36 games under Cherno (injured for 2, scratched for 3 straight) -2 from 19 under Strachan. +6 in his first 8 games under RS, -8 in the last 11. So it was really only those last dozen or so games that it went pear shaped. Last 8 games of the season, he was mostly paired with Lepine and the pair of them went -11 combined in that stretch. (Hughes -7, Lepine -4)
