Panthers heading to Vojens in Denmark for the Continental Cup semi-Final group from 15-17 November. We’ll face Amiens (FRA), hosts SonderjyskE (DEN) & a qualifier. Top two go through to the final in January. www.panthers.co.uk/home/190621-continental-cup

Panthers are ranked #2 in the tournament, with Atyrau as #1. So we're second favourites.. however, I feel this will be somewhat tougher than last time around.
Looking forward to it though, hotel booked, get me back to Denmark. If the SønderjyskE fans are anything like the Odense fans then we'll be in for a good weekend.

Why do the Kazakhstan teams keep getting invited?
It's utterly pointless having them in it, taking a spot from a European team and denying that team a chance at CHL Qualification.
Anyway. I hope the Panthers can win it again

Has anyone booked flights yet I can’t seem to find anything out there for that date? Is it too early?

Just hope this tournament is not a huge distraction from our domestic obligations like the last time. I pay to watch us give one hundred percent in domestic competition and not a pleasant little European Mini-break.

For goodness sake give them a break will you, just because it’s been a distraction every other year doesn’t mean it will be this time. Wait and see what happens and how they play before you condemn it. 😉

Didn't distract Belfast much last year.
Hope we get through, and get the final in Nottingham.

With Black being so keen on CHL qualification, I'm guessing Wallace will be briefed to take this quite seriously. There's no reason why you can't compete domestically and in Europe as Belfast demonstrated.

It should be a good trip cos the Sonderyske fans were very good, they were great a few years ago over in Rouen at the Conti cup.

I've booked, and been contacted by a couple of Sønderjyske fans through Facebook. Itll be a cracking weekend, there will be things out in place for us fans to meet up, chat, and drink over the weekend. Details to be released a bit nearer the time. Biggest sticking point is accommodation, there is only one hotel in Vojens and its fully booked. Dont despair though, dont let it put you off going. There are plenty of hotels in the nearby towns of Haderslev and Kolding. Plenty of fans staying in both of these places

Have to echo the sentiments regarding Kazakhstan's participation in the Continental Cup.
Although if the IIHF stick with the same fairness then if the team from Kazakhstan wins they'll give the runners up the spot.
One way a Kazakh team should be allowed to compete is if they agree to play their games in Russia, with KHL approval of course. They could use whatever Russian venue is closest to Europe as most of the country is in Asia. Besides, pretty sure I read that those in charge of the CHL wanted KHL teams to take part and would get a bye to the Knockout Stage, not sure how that would work.

I know I'm late to seeing it but bit of an upset in the Second Round with Ritten being knocked out on home ice.
Ferencvárosi TC, the multi sport club from Hungary won all 3 of their games and will join Nottingham Panthers, Gothiques d'Amiens & SønderjyskE Ishockey in Third Round Group E.
What do you make of this Panthers fans?

It’s a crap competition these days compared to what it used to be. The standard of opposition is nowhere near what it was if you look at who used to win it.
