I think its unlikely. Ellis didn't keep the job after winning the pofw. I think Rick is seen as a short term safe pair of hands to see us through until the end of the season. After that, he could still be a good assistant, if we bring another newcomer to the UK in as coach

RS is well past his sell by date. They need a total clear out of coaching staff and that includes that clown who I'm not sure what his proper job is !

The thing that hasn't been mentioned is the Strax is a family friend of the Black & has been for a very long time. I too think he is past his sell by date. Having said that for the reason mentioned I think he will be back next year in some capacity. He should walk away and focus on his business like he supposedly wants to.

If we win the Playoffs the whole thing is fixed. Awful for over four months but suddenly world beaters?

We’ll have the lure of European competition to attract better players. It’s a shopping window after all for them to showcase what they could offer a better team. Following that if we were to win the continental cup we’d be in the CHL which is an even bigger incentive. Get our game right and we can beat anyone (apart from in Scotland). I’m sure Mr Black is informing those below he wants Europe next season via the playoffs

I could see Strachan remaining head coach, it'd be the most typical Panthers move.
I don't feel like he's done terrible, he started pretty rough and slowly things came together but it's still not good enough. If he wins the Playoffs I can quite easily see him returning, Black wants Europe.. if he gets it, he'll have Strachan to thank for it.
Personally I don't want Strachan as head coach, I think he's a decent coach but we need another fresh start coaching wise.

If we somehow managed to win the Play-Offs it would be because our team of under achievers actually put four good performances together. Not down to "The Chuckle Brothers" behind the bench. I honestly cannot see beyond Belfast or Cardiff for the Play-off crown but would love to be proved wrong so long as it's not "The Big Orange Machine".

I like Rick, always have, but not for me as full-time coach.
TBH I'd want the new coach to bring in his/her own assistants too.

Who is Panthers one key player for the Play-Offs ? Have to say whoever starts between the pipes. But, picking a potential "impact" player who could emerge as the key to our chances, I'll nominate Hughes or Hurtubise.

I like but will NEVER happen in Pantherland.. imagine a football club appointment a new manager but telling him to work with the last managers assistants .. it would never happen !

He could single handedly win it for us if he comes out with his very best effort over the 4 games.

But how often do you see a new manager going into a football club, but keeping on the old back room staff. I'd say it was 50-50, especially at lower levels, where a new Manager might not know the playing staff so well, and back room staff are less likely to want to uproot themselves if they've settled in an area. Analogies that work with the EIHL standing in the world of Ice Hockey, so even if Rick doesn't carry on as HC next season I can see him still being there in some capacity.

Guptill is our other stand out from the season so he should look to continue that into the play offs. Although other teams may well pay him special attention. If I were to pick a less obvious candidate my choice would be Jon Rheault. The fitter he has gotten the better he has looked. He may go under the radar of the other teams a little, but I think his class may just shine through.

Stewart should have been the "difference maker" ever since he first arrived. Big reputation, big body, big disappointment.
