Maybe he had a team of players who were willing to buy into his systems in Germany, and not almost openly rebel?

Maybe fitness and overall discipline?

Maybe fitness and overall discipline? Fitness is a massive problem with this club, it gets over looked too easily. Look how many times in the 3rd period they let things slip last season. Agree on discipline too

So he has nothing whatsoever to do with discipline or fitness? Those assistant coaches he wanted to bring in must be great.

So why didn't it cost them their jobs first? Why didn't he sack insubordinate players, or unfit players? If his hands were tied by higher ups, why did he not resign?
Good that he managed to win in a worse league, but he's not blameless in his own failure here.

He probably thought "stuff this I'm off" It didn't take him long to get the ravensburg job 😉

Rich was no more of the problem than Corey was.

Perhaps he faced more opposition here in regards to his style of play or training regime than he does in Germany.
I feel the Germans are much better self-disciplined than Brits and North Americans. I feel North Americans are much more likely to say 'screw that' than Germans so perhaps it was just a case of our players didn't buy into what Chernomaz wanted, but the guys in Germany did.
I don't think Chernomaz is entirely to blame at all, the blame has to fall on the players too.

Did Blacky and GM insist on Chernoclue playing dull hockey, or sitting out our top scorer every verse end? Did they coach the impotent powerplay? They could've spared him from Strachan and Green, could've spared us all, but he wasn't a victim of circumstances. His team, his style. The only thing he'll be remembered for in a few years is throwing a wobbler at Fife.

As a result power plays will look crap etc. The problem was above him and various other politics. Like I said cant be that clueless if hes just won a proper play off championship back in Germany eh !

Where were they when he arrived? Not a team he recruited much if any of presumably?
I take it you've absolved Corey of any blame for his years too?

Re Guptill - if you dont play to instructions and pick up players when you are defending, what other option has the coach, if its not getting through?

Sack the player if he's that bad. Maybe don't even sign him to begin with. Sack the unfit players. Demand better conditioning staff. Demand higher standards of off ice behaviour. Tell Blacky to shove it up his Bermuda triangle if he doesn't go with what you say.
I get that Pidge founded the fan club and that, but that he lets Chernoclue off entirely, while giving Neilson the exact opposite treatment is laughable. You can't have it both ways.

Its perhaps the culture which needs to be changed. If the players got Cherno the sack, the attitude needs to change. That is a problem for Gui as DOH.
