Unfortunately we cannot shift the GM.

Being an islanders fan I’m now seeing what a talented bunch can do under a top coach. If we fix the structure of the club GM down we could be a force for years to come! The bigger picture needs addressing We could be a force with one move....replace GM with Kelman !

I'm sure he was sporting director, he hasn't coached since 2015, don't matter now he's gone and we move on. But have we moved on, from the accounts that I've heard is that the performances we've had against Dundee and Glasgow were the same as the ones we've seen recently. Or is it a case where we give Rick the benefit of the doubt because he probably hasn't a chance to go through things properly due to the timing of it all. Doesn’t Strachans wife work at Panthers HQ still?

Nicola would make quite a good GM. Knows the ropes and is approachable , at least she replies to the emails.

She's a nice person and approachable.. great but doesn't she have any extensive hockey knowledge? Maybe Panthers will employ two people, one to run the business side and the other to be a proper hockey GM? ...

Nicola would make quite a good GM. Knows the ropes and is approachable , at least she replies to the emails. And also like Rick has been known to leak bits of info about the players from training & such like. Things that should really be kept 'inhouse' so to speak. In that aspect not the most professional of things to do.... But yes is very approachable to talk to etcetera.

As a league winning coach, Adams might be a touch expensive. Anyone got Doug McKay's number? It’s a two one game

Back to DEL2 then for Cherno at Ravensberg Towerstars as “chief trainer” whatever that means in German...head coach ? Should be interesting as they’re currently one place above Neilson’s 3rd place Lausitzer Fuchse.

He took up the coaching reins at Ravensburg on Tuesday, three days after the team had sacked the previous incumbent Jiri Ehrenberger, who had been in charge since the start of the 2017-8 season. Ironically, Ehrenberger was released for the same reason that Panthers parted company with Chernomaz - a great start followed by a bit of a slump and a recognition that the targets for the season looked like being missed. The Towerstars had done a bit better than Panthers, however, in remaining at the top for 32 of the 42 rounds played so far. Even now, they're still level on points at the top with Löwen Frankfurt (even more ironically Chernomaz's former team). Lausitzer are one point behind these two.
Ravensburg said that, for them, Chernomaz's advantages lie in his knowledge of the league, his experience and the respect in which he's held in the German game, both as a player and a coach/sporting director. They hope that, under Chernomaz, the players will rediscover their self-confidence and maximise their individual abilities. Chernomaz was reported as saying that dialogue and communication within the team was important as well. His first game in charge will be at home against Bad Nauheim, who are in fourth place, two points behind Ravensburg, tonight (Friday 8 Feb). No reference was made in Ravensburg's press release to Chernomaz's time in Nottingham.

Interesting 👍 Perhaps if they’d mentioned Nottingham some wag would have pointed out they also had a great start then a slump down to 3rd ! 🤣 Lol

Chernomaz's contract with Ravensburg is just until the end of the season, by the way (like Strachan's ...).
Watch these spaces!

Ravensburg won Chernomaz's first game in charge 5-4 IN OVERTIME. Ravensburg 2-4 down until 53:20; equalising goal (PP, extra attacker) at 59:56; OT winner at 62:18. Easy!
Meanwhile, CN's Lausitzer Füchse lost 5-1 to table-topping Löwen Frankfurt.

Is there promotion & relegation between DEL1 & 2? And if so, how many go up/down?

Is there promotion & relegation between DEL1 & 2? And if so, how many go up/down? I dont think there is,no. You have to submit an application to join. Frankfurt Löwen of the DEL2 have applied, I tried to do a link but it wouldn't work. It's on the DEL Facebook page dated 16th Feb
