Always good to gloat on the Steelers misfortune but play like we have for the last two home games (& Coventry wasn't much better) we could be in the same position as them Spoke to Rheault last night and he's tore a muscle so can't see him being back anytime soon. Conveniently forgetting the win/performance in Belfast eh! I didn't watch the Belfast game, but the only time I have been impressed with our performance, other than pre season, was against Sheffield. In hindsight that may have been down to how poor Sheffield are rather than how good we are, why we looked good. Looking at Belfasts results this weekend, it may be the same reason. I was really excited about this team pre season and after the Sheffield game, but since then I think our performances have been very laboured and reminiscent of last year's team.

Belfast was away, I said last two HOME games , did you actually attend being as Corey as left now. The games were poor last night worse than the previous home one.

Yes I attend now Corey has gone. It's great seeing a proper coach behind the bench!

2 games into a sixty game season might be a bit early to hand out that weird new trophy they've had made.
I'll enjoy the mess in Yorkshire, before Simms gets Two Point - the saviour of British ice hockey - to spend loads of cash to save his BFF.

However Panthers ratio of 4 wins from 6 games will not be enough to win the league if they keep on that points %.

Oooh Thommo is fearing for his job with two point Tony in the latest Star interview. Oh go on Tony get rid....they don’t call Thommo the “biggest fraud in British hockey” for nothing. 😀

Yes it’s a bit of a dual edge sword really. I’d love to see Thommo get the bullet but whilst he’s there it does rather nullify the Steelers threat. I reckon he’s got about ten games to save his job or two point Tony will fire that bullet.

I get the feeling the league is already a 1 horse race. Devils look head and sholder ahead of anyone else, as everyone predicted. They dont even look like they getting out of second gear a lot of the time. I think the Devils are being a little overhyped or maybe overawed to be honest. No question they are the favourites but they've had an easy ride so far and their fair share of luck to start this season off. They managed to beat us at home although i feel they were fortunate to get that win. We stole defeat from the jaws of victory. Elsewhere they have played a below par and depleted MK team were spent from the work they had put in the night before and it was more like a training match. A win over Coventry who matched them for two periods and a win over possibly the worst Steelers team we've ever seen with an ill starting netminder. Cardiff are a very good team but they have much bigger tests to come than that what they've already faced hopefully starting wednesday night

The final D signing will hopefully add D offence and also release Batch to complete 4 forward lines sometime during Oct which will make us better. I’m also a little surprised at the results up north including Giants - they look good on paper but lost 3 (2 to Fife who themselves struggled a couple of weeks before) Personally I think it’s too early to comment - let’s look again at the end of next month

If they lose to Dundee and Us both in Sheffield this week then I'd be surprised to see him in a job next Monday. The problem is, he isn't just the coach, he's the GM too. You'd need a replacement in asap for both roles.

I always thought Mike O’Connor was the Steelers GM,then there’s that Shaun Smith in the office too whatever he does ? But yes you are correct Thommo is also the GM.

Considering the calls for Thommo out. Should Keefe also be in line for some of the same? Arguably a far superior team than Sheffield yet they have started just as bad if not worse than them.

The Belfast situation is interesting because they had arguably the worst pre-season too. So how much does that chase an issue this early on?

Thommo at least seems to have some determination to change it around irrespective of even a win. But After our game especially, Keefe seemed very disconsolate indeed, almost apathetic.

After the years we propped up Neilson in a job I would think they are all safe for a few years yet.

Another beating for Sheffield, wonder who's let the side down today?

It must have been Rich’s game plan to lose yesterday, hence giving Thompson a lifeline and further destroying Sheffield. He’s a clever man!

Steelers have scored fewer than 3 goals in 7 of their last 10. They’re in deep trouble and but for Whistle they’d probably have about 1 win.
