Must win game for Cardiff if they are aiming to make it out of the group stage.
Bets of luck to them!
Freesports showing the game...then the EIHL preview show is on after it.

Bowns is playing poor too many sloppy goals.
We take to long to get going in games and its costing us against such good teams.
I would personqlly start murdy on weekend and rest bowns for the first leaguw game aginst you guys next week.
The chl is just a step to big for us again this year.

How much of the problem is Bowns and how much the team in front of him? Going forward, Cardiff appeared to be largely ineffectual... defensively they just didn't seem to support Bowns enough.
It's always so easy to blame the netminder...

The last goal was a shot from the point that went straight through him with no screen. It was a poor goal to concede

If Cardiff had the 3rd biggest budget in the EIHL (& not the 4th 😋) it might have been a closer game 😂😂

The bottom line is the Devils haven't been anywhere good enough in these first 3 games I'm afraid

Cardiff falling short again just makes the Panthers team from last season all the more baffling.

It's always so easy to blame the netminder... I mean, that 4th goal was all Bowns. Blue line shot and Bowns has nothing in front of him and just seemingly misses it. I talked to a friend last night and my question is: you put Mike Garnett in net last night, would he do better than Bowns? I’d say yes. Garnett suffered with form when he was in and out last season but start of the season CHL, he was the difference maker IMO. And I think that would have helped Cardiff too. I think Blood’s daft penalties didn’t helped - he’s played 3 seasons in Finland and doesn’t seem to have a grasp of Euro hockey refs?? Hedden looks quality I will admit

I think Blood’s daft penalties didn’t helped - he’s played 3 seasons in Finland and doesn’t seem to have a grasp of Euro hockey refs?? 144 regular season games with 513 Penatly Minutes, earning the "Most Penalized Player" title in both his first and last year in Liiga.
Clearly didn't learn while he was out there.

Well, that's what you get when you only have the 4th biggest budget in the league... you can't afford the smart ones!

You would pick Garnett every day of the week, if you had any sense anyway.
Garnett's resume is the best in the EIHL by some distance imo. He should be elite for this league & more than capable to backstop a lesser roster at CHL level.
He's paid as elite as well, trust me.

I tend to agree with Pidge. The only time i heard Dixon’s name was when he missed a chance to be honest! Linglet didn’t seem tonlight it up. Heddennlooked good but it was the old guard leading the way Exactly I saw nothing in that devils performance to make me worried! 2-5 flattered them Just read this 😂

I turned the game on in the middle of the second. From what I saw of the devil's I thought they were fantastic , dominated Salzburg for a huge amount of time. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them lifting the trophy come March. I watched it all and first period the Devils were crap. But 2nd and 3rd periods it was a totally different game altogether but the Devils just couldn’t score. I thought 2-5 seriously flattered Salzburg. Ah right, thought the first post said 5-2 flattered us lol At the end of the day the scores never matter - the winner is the winner. Easy concept, you don’t score more than them (however you come by them) you love and don’t deserve to win. We have to come out quicker, stay the right side of the referee regardless of how you think they’re doing, play as a unit, and put away your chances - grubby or eloquent. After 3 games, we haven’t come out quickly, we haven’t stayed the right side of the referees, we haven’t scored enough. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed the hockey and can’t believe that for long periods we’re able to compete. Living the dream.

Yes he needs to be more consistent however he isn’t playing as badly as most Devils fans seem to be suggesting o social media. At times when under pressure be consistently bails us out. A bigger problem is our D falling asleep in front of him too many times. You have to move guys away from the front of the net and clear the puck quickly - we’re doing neither. Seeing the type of team Panthers have built this season and the way they’re being coached we’d better start getting the practice in! 😂

The way to beat Cardiff? Go 3-0 up and sit on it. It seems they only come out to play at 4-0.
