Bobness, are you making a record of the correct points records for our players? I know you mentioned on another thread that the EIHL stats from our game against Cardiff were wrong, they’ve still not been changed and it’s not the first time stats have been incorrectly recorded. In our game against Fife their are assists missing off some of our goals, I know they use the game sheets but surely they can watch the highlights back to confirm. The +/- is corrected but not the points. As said, Farmer had a Tony Hand assist on Biggs’s goal vs Devils last Sunday. He want even anywhere near on the ice. Vs Fife, Perlini has the assist when it’s 100% Kovacs on one of Pither’s goals. I guess you can only go by the game sheet? Maybe I’ll try and sanitise points too, at some stage. I suppose it’s easy to do with the highlights it’s just whether you’ve got the time and motivation to do it😂

Which , after signing, they probably keep as the one and only record. Recognising how things haven't happened less an official sees it, it's a bit odd that the wrong guys are noted as getting points whilst they sit on the bench. Then again it's also proof how hard a job it is to gather this information, on the spot, at the time, while trying to keep control. A possible reason why Tony Hand stepped in to say he also needed an assist on a goal scored.

Right, 20 games into the season (one third) let's have a pub quiz. Bit of light relief. League games only.
Of the teams I have stats for (3 of 20 games have no face off stats...), who have Panthers won most faceoffs against (percentage wise)? Which Panther (minimum 50 face offs) is percentage wise, best at face offs so far? And worst? Which Panther has taken the most minor penalties? What is Panthers favourite (i.e. most called) infraction to commit and be called a penalty on? What's the longest points scoring streak a Panthers player has been on this year? And who? Since the end of the first period of the game on 14 October vs Belfast, Panthers have had 30 PP opportunities. How many PPG have been scored on those 30? Clue, prior to that, PP stats were 13 for 51. In those 20 games, how many man games have been lost to injury? How many occasions have Panthers been on the powerplay, only to take a penalty themselves? How many too many men penalties have there been called against Panthers so far? How many more penalty minutes have been called on opponents than Panthers in those 20 games? Which 2 Panthers have the top +/- on GWGs scored? And worst on conceded? Which players have the best/worst +/- stats (as I record them) at home only, and away only?
I don't want to hijack this thread, so, if anyone cares, PM me with guesses and I'll give you the answers.

But you have opened one of your own (and it's more highlighted and better to do so I think) and getting some good response so it was a good idea.

Worth noting that at current pace, Panthers are on course to get 82 points for the season. Adjusted for game number difference, 91 was enough to win it for Cardiff last year. Last year's Panthers haul was an equivalent 76. 34 games to go, 19 home, 15 away...
It's a long way from "over" just yet. We've seen recently how all teams can go on all sorts of streaks. Stars are 5-0 in their last 5, for example. Plenty of water to flow under that bridge...

Just a quick one. Panthers are currently playing 0.719 hockey when Guptill scores a point and 0.600 when he doesn't. With Farmer, it's even better/worse at 0.792 and 0.571.

Quick question for the Stats Gods, how many points does Garnett have thus year? Can't find anything online to answer this?
I know he got one against Storm on Tuesday and think he's had at least one earlier in the year as well.

I thought the one the other night was his first, but am willing to be proved wrong. Put it like this, it was the first I've recorded off the gamesheets as I've seen them. If Sir Spik of Statsville can tell me the other, I'll be all over it.

Hi Mick, Sorry I’ve not got back to you before now. According to our records Garnett only has the one assist and that was last Tuesday as you say. When was he meant to have got the other one. Jim

Mr.Guptill must have increased his tally positively as regards the points scoring per player in the league. To 6th I assume. Other news....Lepine invests into moving up 3 places to to 7th over Adey, Bremner and Myers in All-Time pims whilst playing for the Panthers with a grand total thus far of 692
League etc updated
Oh and Cardiff get knocked out the CUP by Glasgow

Stephen LEE appearances now tops ADEY at 582 - congratulations as LEE is now the 5th All-Time player with games played for the club. Thirty one behind Chick Zamick who can also be caught at the end of the season.

Things have swung Cardiff's way with a 3-2 win tonight over Guildford who are losing their way a tad. Belfast losing to Dundee by the same scoreline leaving Devils with a chance to win a game in hand to eventually take the top spot and take back advantage.
