6 games in 11 days... that's a brutal schedule. Sat 28th host MK Lightning Sun 29th away to Coventry Blaze Mon 30th nothing Tue 31st away to Zurich Lions Wed 1st nothing Thu 2nd nothing Fri 3rd hosting Guildford Flames Sat 4th away to MK Lightning Sun 5th nothing Mon 6th nothing Tue 7th hosting Zurich Lions It could be better, but that schedule really isn't too bad. It could have been a lot worse. At least we are only going to Milton Keynes and Coventry. It could have been Belfast,Cardiff or up to Scotland.

Whist I understand that no-one expected us Or The Devils to have advanced to the 2nd Round therefore no contingency plans to re-arrange fixtures were in place, I feel once it was established that we had a chance of qualifying, something should have been done to try to ease the schedule therefore we can give the 2nd Round a good whist not affecting our chances in The League by having to play games too close together.
I certainly get the feeling that from next season onwards, there will be protocols in place just in case this happens again.
Conspiracy theory here, if it was Sheffield in this position, games would have been re-arranged.
Would it be too much to ask if the game against Coventry could start earlier say around 15:00-16:00

I'm not sure just how practical/possible that would have been... "a chance of qualifying"... How much of a chance would be needed? - even after the home game vs Bern, that wasn't really being taken very seriously by most people. And re-arranging schedules for 2 teams (and possibly impacting others) is not the easiest thing in the world - and certainly can't be just trotted out on a small chance. I doubt it. The fixture list is just too packed... and again, it comes down to going to lots of effort and expense on just a possibility (which may be smaller than this year... we've probably done the rest of the league no favours when it comes to CHL competition, British teams are unlikely to be written off quite so freely in future!). Plus - this is the Elite League we're talking about, remember? To them, 'competence' is just a word in a dictionary. I think that dictionary is propping up the pool table in Elite Towers... Think that's getting to tinfoil hat levels of conspiracy theory... Probably. Depends on what is scheduled to be on the ice pad earlier in the day. It's not likely to be sitting there idle all day just waiting for the hockey to start, after all. And an extra hour or two isn't really going to make any discernible difference... for that, we'd need to move games to other days.

Surely we should be giving ourselves the best chance, I notice from Lions fixtures they don't have a game after 27th Oct which means they will be rested and ready to go & they only play one game after ours before they come to Nottingham. Our schedule is packed and then we're expecting the team to travel and try to win a game, we almost shoot ourselves in the foot.

So if we start rearranging fixtures now, we have to slot them in at some other point in the future. That’s easier said than done. Who’s to say we don’t end up with a worse schedule than this later in the year. We’re lucky at this point that we have a full squad of players. Who’s to say if we rearrange for January we won’t have a couple of injuries and we’re on the back foot?
Better the devil you know. The games are favourable for us around the CHL IMO

We've just booked our flights, missed the good prices to Zurich while waiting to get the time off work confirmed, but for anyone still looking to book we found flights to Basel for less than £50 each and it's only just over an hour by road or train to Zurich. We've gone for a hire car which was £60, so still a cheap trip all in all.

Tue 7th hosting Zurich Lions when you add in Travel Days, and rest Days after travel days / games, it makes the schedule look even more brutal. N/m rotation will be key, as well as not getting any injuries / suspensions. Remember the Conti Cup Final in italy in 2013-14, we only had what seemed like half a team.

Myself and 3 others flying from Luton to Zurich then stopping at an ibis about 10 mins from the Hallenstadion (what a name). Sounds like we're going to have a good following!

Anybody else tried to buy their regular season ticket seat for the home leg against Zurich only to find its already been sold !!!!! 😡
Surely season ticket holders have a preferential window before going on general sale ? They only went on sale today.
