It appears there is a bit of a disagreement between the clubs. Reading between the lines three of the Scottish Clubs and Manchester want 3 conferences of 4. The other teams want two of six, so it looks like a game of blink. Will the Scottish teams pull out?
Neil Black said at the fan forum that they have plans in place for a league with 11, 10, 9 teams etc. So they are prepared for anything.

Marc Lefebvre is not going to Coventry. He told Blaze fans as much himself.

Haven't they already got rid of him once? Did I imagine that?

Next season the average age of the Panthers will be no greater than 27, so Corey has been told to sign a younger team, one that does not have players past their best and winding down in their careers. Corey won't be allowed to sign some player at 12 years old to bring the average age down so it will be interesting to see what type of team he puts together.

Few from the weekend. Boxill back to panthers Doucet back to panthers Finner to Fife Benidict & vandermeer to retire Brian Stewart to another eihl club Finnerty to Fife is a possibility as he had dinner with Tam Muir during the week. I heard another that David Clarke is headed to Clan to cut his teeth as head coach, would be very surprised at that one tbh. It will be interesting to see what happens with the league structure, Fife, Dundee and Edin pushing for 3 conferences but it would appear that only Manchester Storm are supportive of this, so doubtful it will happen. The majority appear to support two conferences with Belfast moving to the Gardiner. If all teams stay, the CC will be split into three groups with the top three teams qualifying for the semi final and the best runner up of one of the groups, so it will no longer be a long drawn out affair, of course this will depend on all teams remaining.

I am unsure on Doucet, don't get me wrong he is a good but I want better. I think the player we should be trying to get from around the league would be Scarsella. I would like Martin from Devils but that's never gonna happen.

Stewart was intoxicated for roughly 99.9% of the weekend, told every fan base he would be signing with them.. Besides Cardiff, he said he hated Cardiff.
Can't imagine we'll be getting Boxill. We have 1 player u23, we need 2 more. Those two would fill the Myers and Oakford gaps hopefully. If we were to sign a Brit older than 23, then I'd expect one or two of our current Brits to be leaving/retiring.
I'd take Benedict as a spare import/assistant coach, like he should have been with Belfast. Love the guy.

The only other way i can see Boxhill coming back is if Clarke is setting aside. Lacho gets pushed up the lines as points scorer and Boxhill takes gis spot. But the would be a big risk on the Lacho front imo. Dont want Doucet or Benedict. Both players on the decline. We need to be going for guys who have the their best years to come or are at the peak of their powers.

Lee is 30, Clarke 35, Farmer 26 and Laco 27. As Betteridge is only 21 we have room for one older Brit - I cant see Green being here. Betteridge is only 21 so two U23 and one over, leaves room for Boxill.

However Panthers don't have to do anything different to this season in theory, in terms of Brits to play 4 line hockey. 8 import forwards + Clarke, Farmer, Lacho & Ollie. 5 Import D + Lee An import goalie and Green. We could have iced 22 this season had we chosen to carry more Brits. Obviously we intended on having Oakford at the start so one of those Brits we had would also have had to have been under 23 instead.

There is some substance to this Boxill to Panthers rumour, they currently have six Brits who are over 23, Dickson 29, Murphy 35, Garside 28, Shields 37, Towe 29. They could solve the issue though if they keep Whistle, who is 21, and don't play Dickson. It would mean leaving a outskating Brit out though if they ever have to play Murphy and Dickson together. A bit of a headache for them.

Do we need another forward that doesn't contribute points wise. I like Boxill but i would much rather have someone like Jack Prince or Matthew Davies and get someone like Antonov or Susters as the u23 to be the fourth liner to learn and develop.

I'd take Antonov out of the two of them, but I'd take Duggan over Antonov as Antonov is a feather so he'll get crushed.

It all depends on what else we sign. If we had for example Import-Import-Brown Import-Import-Import McGratten-Niki/lindhagen-Farmer Betteridge-Lacho-Boxill And those top 5 new imports all have good points production and the 2 with brown are proper top quality players. A strong argument for having Boxill back could be made. Ive left out Clarke because i think he might not take up a full roster spot next season. Kinda like benedict at belfast. He could stay as assistant coach and be our injury cover for the forwards. I just think its risky to rely on him for a full season now. Hes very injury prone.
