Looks a good player, they do seem to have an older team 9 players on their roster are 30 and over. Going literally opposite to the youthful side we been told we are signing. Wonder if panthers will actually sign anyone today. At the moment steelers are signing like they are in the chl not us!

This guy looks good. Good pedegrie, played lots of games every year. Last year Steelers defence wasnt balanced they badly needed a stay at home guy. This guy will do that job for them. Gotta say though thier recruitment has been abit odd so far. Other than this guy and wallace im bot overly fussed about what they've brought in. And they are gonna have an average age of well over 30 at this rate. We'll see how they end up but i reckon they need some younger guys. We have a long season in this country and they may find themselves struggling to make the distance.

I have to say, I can't work out if that's a good steelers team or not...it's very old/experience but has a lot of Scandinavian influence that makes me wonder if it'll work out for them

glad he's stayed in the league, it adds something extra to the Guildford matches, it's great getting under his skin

We should invite the Nashville fans over when Stewart plays against us at the "world famous NIC" they're savage!! If anyone hasn't heard the chant YouTube something along the lines of "Nashville chant it's all your fault" we thought we did a job!!

If he's so good why isn't he settling in the states working with decent coaches not the rammel in this league. I 'll never understand that. He's 16 now probably we be 25 ish before he teaches some potential . I don't see him being in Sheffield for the next 9 years anyway

Could be many reasons. Money, lack of ambition like many other sporting Brits.. Maybe like Tony Hand he couldn't settle. A lot of things will determine whether he becomes a quality Brit in the Elite league or elsewhere No one said he will be there 9 years. It all depends on ice time coaching and the players own attitude as well as the make up of the league's between now and then. Time will reveal all but he looks to have for more upside than Kelsall does at present.

It doesn't matter who Caps sign your flogging a dead horse with Scott Neil in charge. Won't accept any help and doesn't promote the club enough, they should have a larger fanbase with the resources available in Edinburgh city & if marketed right.

You have to ask the question though....what's he doing there ? 😳 It's his first job as a head coach so he's totally unproven. That's probably at least part of the reason. You'd think though he should have some very good contacts... Unlike a certain coach much closer to home. Whether he will be able to to utilise those contacts to the club's benefit given he is likely to have a small budget is another story.....

MK sign Ludwig Karlsson www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9008I like what MK are stirring up down there. Looking like they are going to be very competitive and a welcome addition to the EIHL. Nickerson and Doucet will do well for them. Added into that having a top coach, and they might cause some upsets along the way. I noticed they prized Mick Kemp (GB u18 equipment guy) into being there equipment manager too from Coventry. They have all the basis to be solid. Hope MK do well.

Not exactly signings but ex NHL stalwarts (if that's the correct term) Darius Kasparaitis & Andrei Nikolishin to help scout potential players for new Edinburgh coach Dmitri Khristich

If Panthers brought in some ex-NHLers to scout for us we would be buzzing for it, so for Edinburgh its a fantastic move. Really hope Khristich does a good job up there and they improve again. Much better last season than before and with some quality coaching who knows what could happen. Will be good for the league if they can move on up the ladder.

Only if they can get these players they identify to come and play in Edinburgh for peanuts. They might attract the odd gem,but they won't get a whole team of them.

It's a shame Caps don't utilize their potential. If they could get even 1,000 in every game, that'd be a massive boost.. let alone selling games out. They seem to have a strange ability to attract the weird and wonderful like Khristich and the scouts but come November, it'll all have gone to pot.
Back to Panthers though, nice to hear Corey's take on McGrattan's retirement. Matt Davies suggested he'd likely be looking for a Desbiens type guy to replace him with, though it's not the current priority. I'd be happy with that. Someone with the ability of Salters, but with a tad bigger and tougher.

The very guy Panthers wouldn't pay the money for two summers ago,who later on ended up in Sheffield and did a great job for the Steelers !

Corey also said he's after high end hungry skill guys !! Corey those players don't come to this league at the start of their careers !
Either high end skill guys in their twilight years or young players who MAY have a bit of skill .. What's it to be

But it's no wonder the Caps can't compete when you think that their TOTAL yearly home crowds are the same as Panthers get in just FOUR home games against Sheffield ! How the Caps exist on a total yearly income from gate receipts of only some £400k is staggering really.
