Well,I said before I went that I intended to come home with no voice and I have. I, along with most other Panthers fans there, am broken. The players gave their all and we certainly did too. That was the greatest ice hockey weekend of my life. There are some great videos from the crowd over on Facebook, I'm sure most of you are friends with the folks posting them,go have a look and try to get an idea of our experience. #WeDaredToDream

Why has gary moran got a face like a smacked backside in the pictures of the team with the cup?, Probably because somebody took his microphone off him before he stepped onto the ice.

Does anyone else find it strange, nothing from the owner Neil Black He's probably still in "la la land" after finally achieving his dream ! 😉 I'm surprised he wasn't out in Italy....or was he ?

Was that a bottle thrown on the ice when Farmer scored the ENG?

Was that a bottle thrown on the ice when Farmer scored the ENG? Don't think so. It came from the Panthers fans so I very much doubt it.

Good that that clip was released, thank you. Got to actually see the last goal.

Good that that clip was released, thank you. Got to actually see the last goal. Depends which local evening news you watched. BBC was very good,a nice long article with plenty of action. ITV on the other hand, was absolute pants. We were called the "Northampton Panthers" and got about fifteen seconds with a very brief clip of the empty net goal. Even some local girl swimmer on just before got longer coverage than Panthers did !

In the game with the Kazakhs, when Machine Gun's penalty shot went in to win it, it looked like something came over the glass at him. That would've looked like it came from our lot too, not that it would've.

There were only plastic glasses there. A pair of glasses and a sandwich also got launched at various times.
It may well have been the Danish fans in our section though, as it happened in their games as well.

A day later with time to let it sink in. What is truely remarkable is actually how easy we made it look. Aside some dodgy officiating in the 2nd game we pretty much never looked in trouble. Bossed all 3 games due to a great effort from every one of the team. All that and remembering we were the lowest seeded team heading into the finals. WoW.

Annoyed that we win a top European competition and DON'T hit the back page of the Nottingham Post. Just the inside pages as normal. I think football teams probably get (got) the front page in such an event. But they obviously don't get it....ITV obviously don't 'know' it.

Absolutely beautiful.
I've been truly spoiled in my first two seasons as a hockey fan. A season with Janssen and Mosey tearing things up in the CC and Playoffs and now a season that has reached new heights, A European Championship - something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime from a home town sports club.
I sure hope the club & league MILK the hell out of this achievement. There is a football club down the road who I have personally been a ST holder of for 18 years, they are currently heading down and out and leaking fans. A perfect opportunity to get more newbies interested in a team who get paid peanuts in comparison but put 110% more effort into playing for the club we support.
This achievement will last forever and will never be taken away from us. British teams may conquer Europe in the future (I hope they do) but they'll NEVER be first.

As for the CHL - I've got it on good terms that the 'subject for board approval' is based purely on the Panthers having a suitable venue available and having the budget to compete. I can guarantee that there will be two British teams playing in the CHL next season and one of those will be our Nottingham Panthers.
I do believe that Ritten would have been denied entry into the CHL for a hard to access rink location and poor quality of ice.

Would be nice to get a statement, else televised/radio message from our owner on the website, particularly as he set this as a major goal for the team this year.

After being cheated in Asiago it's amazing to see us go the whole way, despite them clearly trying to cheat us in the second game too. No matter what happens, the Panthers have made UK sporting history.

Check out the side of the Council House "Continental Cup Champions of Europe 2017". The "of Europe" isn't really necessary, is it? Except that it makes it read "Champions of Europe" if you squint enough...

We won a European trophy and It was a very good achievement, but move on,it's starting to grate now. As Panthers are very fond of saying....."it's in the history books now" we move on and take the next game, one game at a time etc. 😉 Lol
