Wait and see. Not the best resume.

Took them long enough to announce this one, sure he was signed about a month ago now. Glad to have him though, but i'm expecting a lot of disappointment with his stats which isn't fair considering the chemistry he has with a lot of the roster and his to-be linemate, Chris Lawrence, the reason he's signed with us.
Looking forward to watching him play and assuming he was signed a month ago when the rumour cropped up, hopefully the one forward Corey spoke about needing to sign, isn't this one, not that i'm disappointed.. I'm the opposite!

Called it weeks ago on the rumours section. He's best mates with Brown and Lawrence plus his Twitter account is littered with Panthers retweets.
A bit of a 'wait and see' signing. His form in France was brilliant (28 goals + 26 assists in 37 games) as was his junior/college years. ECHL numbers weren't much to write home about but a forward at 225lbs can often be typecast in that league.

Not outstanding stats but could be a good signing if his chemistry with lawrence is as good as they say.im interested in what is meant by a formulated plan. Obviously not the numbers we were expecting but give the lad a go see what he can do, others have come with worse and done very well.

Maybe I'm missing something but I can't see anywhere in that article what position he plays. He's clearly a forward and must be a winger to be playing on a line with Lawrence but shouldn't this be one of the first things included in a player announcement?

His signing isn't going to be the wow signing people expected. I don't know enough about him to be able to comment but stats wise, it doesn't leap out as outstanding

Brown plays either wing and Lawrence can play LW & C. Got one line set in stone there, Corey would be incredibly stupid to split them up with how well they all know each other.

Waste of time, where are the goals coming from, not experienced enough, stats are not any good, wrong type of player, wrong coloured hair, not what we need.
I've just saved you reading the rest of this thread.

I do hope he finds some magic on the end of his stick because for me we look seriously short of goals thus far. On the face of it a very uninspiring signing especially at ECHL level, but having looked a bit further looks like he could do ok as the lad has a better record in France and CIS than Gui Doucet who has consistantly put up good numbers in our leagues having played in the same leagues as Carter previously
CIS Carter 111GP - 69G - 75A - 144PTS - 1.30PPG Doucet 112GP - 53G - 55A - 108PTS - 0.96PPG
France Carter 39GP - 28G - 23A - 51PTS - 1.31PPG Doucet 52GP - 21G - 19A - 40PTS - 0.77PPG
we wait and see, still think we need to sign 1 more forward capable of 30+ goals

There are going to be some embarrassed Panthers fans when these signings turn out to be much more effective than they want to believe! Some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy.

If we've got another import forward to sign im happy with this. If we don't... alot of presure on Lawrence and Carter to perform.
We look big!!!

There was that whole idea that Carter had already signed for us about a month ago so can see that Corey must of meant we only have one more forward to sign not two to announce.

If that is our forward lines complete now though,we look seriously short of goals and top end quality. Another season of league mediocrity looming me thinks !

Otherwise im not sure we have that go to guy to make a big play and unlock a defense when the chips are down. We're not as short as some people think we are though. And we're going to be really hard to play against. Which is always a good thing imo.

It seems to me that this forum is moving towards a place where negative comments and views are not welcome and the posters making them are ridiculed and shouted down.

We'd need at least 1 more forward wouldn't we? Unless he's given up on the 4 line business?

So what are we looking for now? One last import forward (I'm hoping for Kolnik or similar quality) to link up with Moran/Schultz. Then do we need 2 or 3 import d-men?
I take it if we sign Oakford again we'll go for 2 d-men and possible another 2 forwards?? I'm losing track of import rules now

There are going to be some embarrassed Panthers fans when these signings turn out to be much more effective than they want to believe! Some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy. Two of the most unheralded (is that even a word?) signings of recent years have been Matt Francis & Evan Mosey. They turned out ok. I'm not writing us off, far from it, wait and see. To be fair CN recruited well last pre-season so he can do it. The problem last season was a lack of ambition rom those above him at the club(in terms of replacing mid-long term injured players) once the season was in full flow. If that happens again this season then any criticism will be well deserved. Again, wait and see.

I'd say 90% of the posts on here are negative so not sure how you can say that tbh. I think the issue is that certain posters take over every single thread with the same posts, and it winds people up.

IF he isn't the last import forward signing I think this is a good signing. Sebastian Benard just tweeted Matt Carter arrives in @panthersihc. It's simple: I am sure that the Nottingham will love it!
so again getting good messages from places where he has played and then Elite Prospects UK tweeted this
EliteProspects UK Retweeted Sebastien BERNARD
@panthersihc fan, according to my sources in France you're gonna love your new signing...
I think he would be a good signing but only IF he isn't the last import forward.
