I do hope you're way off,but hey ho so long as he can hit and provide energy.......who needs goals ! Good job Brown can score goals then isn't it! But i guess you were too occupied in finding something to be annoyed about because his stats on paper aren't outstanding. Whilst on the topic of needlessly standing up for players, Carter looks decent enough.. Doucet came to the EIHL from France with worse numbers, tore it up with Hull, did very well with us and did very well again, down in Cardiff. Zach Hervato is another, came from the French 2nd Division this time though!, did well with Hull and has done well with Cardiff.. Lots more potential in both players. I'd welcome Carter to Panthers, players like him reek with potential to me and will always be hungry to play.. Big step up for these players.

I still think we need a true play maker in the Ling/ Galbraith/ fox mold.

I think his role in the ECHL might put people off thinking he's not able to put up points. He obviously went to France to show his flair again. Takes a good talent to put up 28+23 in 39 games in that league, it's full of speed and skill so not easy to compete at 225lbs. Also a brace in the CHL to boot.

But i wouldnt be devastated if we got Cater. The only other concern i would have is that were getting too big up front and might be lacking speed.

Jeff Brown, also.. Chris Lawrence! And i know for a fact Lawrence hinted at a player in France who he and Mosey knew, was looking to join us.

A line of Carter/ Lawrence/ Brown would be a big line with points in it, could be a real force in our league. However i think it is vital we get Schultz the right line mate. He is good for 35 goals with the right guy. That has the be Neilsons priority. Unless Kolnik isnt coming back and hes bumping Shultz up to a Mosey/Moran/ Schultz line? I dunno, i goota love the off season sometimes though

Jeff Brown I think will be like our version of Justin Faryna and if we get Matt Carter I feel like he would be similar to Chris Bruton.

Maybe a wind up from last night's Giants event Daryl Lloyd to Panthers . Can't see us needing another player in his mold unless the rumour that Matt Myers is going back to Devils is true

Agree entirely and think it's just a wind up as he wasn't one of the seven returnees named yesterday. The source knows all too well the low opinion the person he told has of Mr Lloyd .

I'm not sure why Myers would go back to Devils other than to be closer to his wife. He wasn't offered a new deal there last year which is why he came back to us.
He signed a 3 year contract with us, but it includes get out clauses as he's wife is still in Cardiff and he wasn't sure how it would work. He could have dropped down to the EPL, but wasn't ready to give up top level hockey just yet.

If they come crawling back and push a decent contract in front of him it would be hard to turn down due to his personal life.

Came from Simmsy that one, must be in talks then. Fine by me, didn't rate him personally and the more loose cannon's they have on D, the easier it will be for the league. Steelers are going to disappoint the hell out of the CHL.

He lays a good hit but he's slow and turns like a boat, more then happy for them to have a d man who provides no offence and gets caught out by his lack of speed and agility. If Batch stays in Cardiff I bet he's looking forward to not having to pair with him on D

not a rumour just what id like to see after have a look at current free agents and keeping in mind who other teams have managed to attract so far. looked at putting lines together and i know i'll get ribbed by a lot of people on here but its players we could attract/mild wishful thinking.
Austin Smith (RW) DEL2 37 goals in 40 games 55 points overall, the sniper we need Justin Kelly (C) DEL2 85 points in 52 games, the proven high point score we need David Wriggly(LW) DEL2 64 points in 37 games the second proven point scorer we need Drew Paris (D) Allsvenskan) 26 points in 47 games also 6"4 100kg big blue-liner (to replace Schmidt should he retire)
Smith Kelly Wriggly Kolnik Lawrence Shultz Clarke (should he return) Mac Brown Cam Ollie/Lacho Farmer
not checked who's what handed apart from the top line so don't go at me too hard.
Paris Dimmen Oakford Quick (should we tempt him back) Lee Waugh
we would be right handed heavy on the D with 5 of them being right handed, Quick the only lefty but I'm taking a gamble here.
Wiikman Green
Again don't pull me apart just had some time at work and had a pop at some lines.
