Johnson was injured for parts of last season lower body injury so not concussion related. He's been in with the Marlies so potentially, if this guy was on Corey's radar.. He could've used Jeff Brown, to ask his brother, Connor, who is a Leafs prospect and played with Johnson last season, to contact him and pass on the details perhaps.. Take it from there. In terms of fighting, patchy record to start with but in recent years he's destroyed everyone. He has an incredibly hard punch. Go back to the 10-11 AHL Season, he KO'd Erick Lizon, Riley Emmerson & Myles Stoesz. Bobby Robbins the season after, Derek Mathers, Stu Bickel & John Scott a couple years later.. he beat Cam that season too. Beat Lepine twice last season. I'd be very happy if we signed him, plays the same position as Cam and is tougher. He'd undoubtedly be the best enforcer in the league. Edit: Connor Brown is in the UK at the moment, came over to watch Jeff play and has been playing golf with him, Lachowicz and Betteridge today! Could've popped into the office and held a conference call with Corey and Johnson Wish we could get Connor on a 1 week deal, have him play against Coventry and come to Amiens with us. You mentioned Lepine. He's a free agent now isn't he? Although this guy sounds very interesting. He is, surprisingly. Only 1 team has sufficient space for another defenceman on their roster in the AHL and that's Rochester. A rival of both Binghamton and Utica, where he's previously played. Interesting to see what happens with him but he's definitely got a few more years left in him at a higher level.

Russ Moyer & Jeff Hutchins to Fife tomorrow. It would seem this is true, according to Simmsey tweeting "two former Steelers to the same club tomorrow". Moyer I can understand, but why on earth would you want Hutchins ?

I hear Nick Tarnasky is a free agent. Hey, a man can dream, right?

I would expect a lot more goals from him thats for sure 15 in the ahl last year. Park him in front of goal on the PP maybe we'll even score on some this year.

Kris Newbury or Nick Tarnasky would be perfect, although both are LW we can reshuffle to suit. Come on Corey, money talks

Well Devils get Bordeleau... Corey still 'biding his time'.
Let's hope CN can pull something off before September!

for fudges sake pull your finger out Corey! God sake he would have been ideal but you have let him slip through your fingers. Superb signing for cardiff. The player Corey brings in better be amazing top draw. I know it's not cn fault cam left but it's taking a long time to get the guy in. By the time Corey gets the "right" guy the season will be half over.

Relax, the better enforcers that aren't just goons, the type of player that we need, will be bidding there time themselves seeing if a better offer comes in from the AHL. Corey has said this in his interview with the Evening Post and in the next week or two players situations will be more clear. This the issue you get when the North American seasons start later than ours.

We could always try and get Brett Gallant. I wonder if Bordeleau would like to get to know him again?
That had to hurt!

But I have to agree he would be a worldie of a signing. Just hope we've got someone in for our home opener against Cardiff or it's going to be a long night for the boys in black and yellow

We won't have anyone in for the Devils home opener. Bordeleau has been on the cards for nearly a month, only publically announced today and 'should' be in for the opening league games of the season, Sept. 10th.
Panthers are giving their targets up to two weeks to decide on if they take their chances as a free agent or sign with us, assuming we get one of the targets and they haven't got a European Passport, i'd expect the weekend of 1st, 2nd October at home to Storm and away to Devils to be their debut.
It's tricky to figure out what type of player Corey could be going for. If they're one dimensional like Bordeleau then they don't have a hope in hell of the NHL calling them, so that would mean they're either not all there up top or the idea of coming here isn't very appealing. Or, they could be depth at best NHL'ers who can fight but provide a bit more than that, more of a Power Forward in the Tom Sestito mould (He's signed with WBS Penguins already).
I hope the players in question decide quickly.

Simms (who got Bordeleau spot on) reckons we're on for either Justin Johnson or John Scott.
Obviously Scott would be a PR dream (no doubt Panthers would make a hash of it) and would attract a lot of interest. Johnson would be a force in the EIHL, he's KO'd Scott and plenty others!
Wouldn't be disappointed with either, although last years All-Star Captain/ MVP would be amazing.

Tough to call, Johnson offers more in terms of hitting and overall aggressive play like Cam and packs a punch no doubt but John Scott is a guy you'd be hard pushed to say no to. Take them both they could play alternate games

John Scott all day, he'd be able to play in this league as well I believe I agree, he does a decent job as a defensive forward from what I've seen. If we are going for very low goal output that could come in handy.
