Anyone else feel that the actions of the Arena Security/ Customer safety staff leave a bit to be desired - having been thrown out of the arena tonight for complaining that they are failing to "try" and stop people from taking their seats whilst the puck is in play - I was then accused of swearing at the staff and threatening them, and no matter how much I or my colleagues said I did not swear or threaten, I was told "a decision has been made and I would not be allowed in for the rest of the game" - When I later spoke to the security guy who was dealing with this I was told it was not for today but on previous occasions when I have complained - I know they can do nothing about people coming down the steps but can at least make an effort to stop them from going up, instead of standing talking at the other end of the area or disappearing - might have to appeal to the DOPs to make sure I do not get too higher ban - on another point my season ticket has failed the scanner every time since Motorpoint took over, most times they have let me in after looking at the ticket but a couple of weeks ago I had to go to the booking office to get it verified meaning I missed the start of the game - Rant over - although it looks like I missed the game of the season, with no comeback or reprieve

Cant comment on your situation. The woman that does block 13/14/15 is useless. People shouldnt come up during play. If it needs 2 boddies on the bigger entrances then so be it.

They normally stop people coming back up when it's in play, although I saw that today too.
I notice that it's often people sporting plenty of merchandise who should know better, and have the manners to self police, that do it though.

Anyone see the fight between the two girls near the ticket office?
I was going to break it up but someone beat me to it. Think they were supposed mates as well.

This was block 15/16 and there was a guy with a tray of drinks, whilst the lady who should have been watching, was at the other end of the entrance talking to her supervisor, complain, they look at you "gone out" - stop talking and watching the game and do the job you are being paid for - protecting customers safety

It's not something I thought I'd ever say but the quality of stewarding has definately gone downhill since Showsec lost the contract for the Arena.

Can a complaint be made to the centre management? Certainly seems you were unfairly done by.

Tonight seemed especially bad for people walking down the stairs while the game was in play.
The same group of lads in block 13 were repeatedly doing it and getting shouted at by people in the block. The steward even told them to stop but they carried on regardless.

Initially I was told I had sworn at the steward and threatened her, it then changed to another member of staff had complained, I then spoke to the supervisor involved who said he had not heard anything, and when I asked who had complained he said he did not know but it was not because of what I did last night but due to previous incidents when I have complained to the stewards about the same thing - obviously my card is now marked so dare not say anything wrong about them - they do a wonderful job under difficult conditions and deserve as much praise as possible - what can you do when a number of people say I did not do it but some nameless individuals say I did - waste of time complaining - just sit there and watch the game without saying a word or making a sound (think I will move to the old foggies block) it's usually quiet there

Without knowing of your circumstances, whenever you try to take on an organisation with a complaint, rather than (for example) your local newsagent, the organisation can always hide behind T&C, layers of admin/staff to go through so you are less likely to get a positive response, especially if you complain in an 'aggressive' manner. They do close ranks somewhat at the Arena. I've had good and bad experiences - I've written nice emails and got positive replies, I've had a block steward have a go at me for trying to take my seat as players were getting ready for a faceoff, even though I sit on the concourse level row, 4 seats in and the other 3 were empty. When I tried to point this out I received a 'there'll be no arguing, or else' reply. You could always write to the DOPS and demand a hearing !!

I have just purchased a roll of "Duct Tape" and some restraints, so if you see anyone in block 16 with their mouth taped up and their wrists tied, it's me - say hello, but I will not be able to answer back or shake your hand - Happy Days!! - Come back Showsec, all is almost forgiven

One way to stop people leave the seat is close the food/drinks outlets during play, but the arena will not do that because money comes before safety

The first problem is the food and drink kiosks themselves. The staff are as slow as wood so huge queues happen at just about every game as they are taking way too long to serve customers and so in turn there is a mad rush to get to the kiosks at the front of the queue = People leaving seats with about 90 seconds of a period left. Sort out the customer service side and the people getting up bit will in a large part sort itself. No matter what way you look at it the kiost staff at the NIC are possibly the slowest in the world anywhere.

I talk to one stewart quite a lot and last night, he reported there was someone being an 'idiot' in Block 16 area, complaining to staff telling them to do their job and abusing them etc..
Guessing that was you?
It's best to remain calm and talk to the stewards rather than have every man and his dog say you didn't do anything. We had someone in Block 13 a few weeks ago disrupting people and causing trouble, he got called down by the stewards and told to calm down. He remained calm and kept chatting to the stewards and was allowed, under supervison, to remain and watch the game. I think it's more how you treat the stewards rather than what you've done, they don't like chucking people out, it's their last resort.

Had they called me down for a word, that would not have been a problem and I would have been happy to clear things up, but I was accused of doing something I did not do, I walked out with them, without any fuss, even when I was told I would not be let back in, I was still calm about it, as, as you say, matters can only get worse if you start "kicking off" - my complaint was that I was not the only one who spoke to security about this, I had people verify that I had not sworn or threatened, and in the end the supervisor said he had not heard anything. nothing I or my friends could say could change anything, and as far as I am concerned the matter is now in the past, and I have better things to do with my life - Duck tape and restraints at the ready for the next game (if they let me in)

Most of them are hopeless. Couple of weeks ago a bloke sat across from me finally snapped and shouted at some idiots sat in front of him to sit down after they had been up and down like yoyos for most of the game. All he got was a mouthful of abuse and a threat of violence, he was there with two of his grandchildren. The steward did nothing, showing only a vague interest when it was pointed out she was next to useless at her job. People had been up and down the steps of Block Seventeen for the entire match and she had done exactly nothing.

Cannot comment on other blocks as I sit in block 16 - but it is definitely getting worse - the idea of having the bars closed during play is a good one but will never be implemented due to loss of revenue - anyway, I have been told that my posts are being looked at, so unless I want a longer ban I need to be careful, so my comments will now end, but anyone else is welcome to make their comments unless the thread gets locked - two sides to every argument but usually one is true and one is slightly not.

They tried to confiscate my two year olds dinner once. They don't sell what I wanted her to eat.
The arena is full of people eating their own food and is unenforceable and they should just drop the issue.
In the end they realised my argument and let me through but told me not to do it again.

Actually last night my son was warned about not being allowed to take an iPad in despite being a season ticket holder for many years and taking an iPad in with him since the "iPad 1" first came out.

It's just like the Elite league/match officials your in the wrong, even if you had witnesses they would say you/witness are lying, it's like shooting yourself in the foot.
Block 8 last night, 2 groups up and all through the game, back and forward with beer thats not fit for cleaning the drains.

Personally, I have had no issue with any of the staff. They've always been friendly and helpful when we've needed them. But it's like anything - people can have totally different experiences with the same company
