Corey basically just said he's not coach next year... Yeh I was just about to post about that. He said something along the lines of 'It depends who the coach is going be <pause> or maybe me'. Definitely sounded like he thinks he won't be around.

Well deserved.
As others have said, was beginning to think that it wasn't going to be our night. Dominant performance and only a combination of Bowns and bad luck stopped us from winning it earlier.
As for GM, if he has to present the trophy, just present it and then move out the way! Let the captain lift it! Clown!

Same old GM trying to hog the spotlight and take the credit. Pathetic.

Corey will have to do more than this to be welcomed back. We have to use this fantastic achievement and make a legitimate run in the remaining two competitions.
We can do it IF coached properly.
This is not enough to be classed as a successful season. Last time we tanked so bad after taking the trophy home.
But that's for later, right now we need to celebrate. Tomorrow can wait.

Same old GM trying to hog the spotlight and take the credit. Pathetic. I'm not defending his overall approach, but the criticism seems just a tad harsh. The team he has worked very hard for for a number of years just won a trophy. Anybody in that position would want to celebrate by lifting the cup. There are many things he deserves criticism for but give him some slack.

Anybody in that position would want to celebrate by lifting the cup. Yeah but it's Clarke's job to lift the cup, he refused to let go! He always finds a way to chip an edge off it. Anyway, tense afternoon watching it, our depth told in overtime when we were totally dominant really. Fitting that Mosey got the winner. Very well done all. I think that'll mean Neilson again next year, if last year wasn't enough for it to be the end I don't see them getting rid now he's won. Plus I think we'll win more unless we hit injury trouble (mentioned Miika had to "get through warm up" today for example).

Was really starting to worry that it just wasn't going to be. 3rd period aside completely dominated - looked like a constant powerplay at times. Thankfully we got the goal we deserved though - good lad Mosey.
It's always nice when you win so it doesn't look like sour grapes when you say how UTTERLY DREADFUL the officials were. Although I was struggling to decide who was more biased out of the refs and the BBC commentary team. The excitement in Bennet and Thompson's voices when Devils managed to get the puck out the zone and break was incredible!

The odds were against us, nothing was going our way but this team has produced one of the greatest performances I have seen, so proud of every single player! Amazing, absolutely lost it when Mosey scored! Forget everything that happened because we are the champions!!!!!

Great win, solid performance. Panthers looked the better team through out. IMO the refs absolutely killed it, no excitement allowed. Too many nothing pens called early on. 0-0 is not a hockey score, if the panthers could have scored early devils would have had to come out and it would have been much more exciting, but the penalties killed it. Every player was on egg shells. That non boarding call when Lord went to the box himself lol!
Ot was much better as the ref kept his whistle in his pocket. Devils never looked like winning it, it was just a matter of time how long Browns could keep them in it.
Good win, first trophy, hope we can win some more.

Corey basically just said he's not coach next year... Yet maybe he wants to move on? We totally bossed that game, Devils never looked like scoring. Well played to Corey for that tactical display So glad Evan got the winner - love to have him and a few others re-signed asap Lets make a push in the last few league games and who knows what will happen? PO's are anyones

Cardiff just defended, didn't offer a lot going forward. think Bowns saved them from another drubbing, thought the OT Panther's totally dominated.
The transformation from the side the lost to Belfast is remarkable, somebody explain please, even earlier in the season when Panthers won games I always thought something was lacking, maybe it's the 2 new D men?.
PS a fit Wiikmen is the best keeper in the league

What a most enthralling final, both teams deserve a ton of credit, Bowns was outstanding for the devils all night and kept them in it till the very end. He in my eyes is the best British goalie by a mile and wouldn't mind him for us. the coverage wasn't the best and may have been better on Premier Sports with Murph and Adey but heck it was TV so no complaints there.
The game was close it could have gone either way. The refs bottled it on Lord, if that was a league game he would be watching the rest from the dressing room.
Panthers did the one thing we needed to do and kept Doucet and Salters on the outside which was key. Again PP was looking poor without Linger but our PK was excellent, Going into OT I was thinking this wasn't going to end well, and Bowns again what a save in OT which I thought was in.
Mosey what a player what a guy, I predicted he would score the winner and what a winner, A teed up cannon of a shot which was the only thing that was going to beat Bowns. Get him signed up first thing Monday morning!
Yet another Challenge Cup win and on Sheffield Ice to boot was super sweet.
Finally we did this for Linger, the Wilson/Fox family and all the Panthers fans who we've lost this season.
Well done Panthers! WE BELIEVE THAT WE CAN WIN!!

Great day out that, I'm knackered mind you. Threw my back out celebrating the goal.
Thoroughly deserved the win, dominated them really. Only Bowns, Darnell & the pipework kept them in it. Thought Smith called an OK game.
Less said about the messed up intros & shot count the better. GM is a divot as well, you didn't play the game, get off the ice you fool.
Cam looked happy with the cup. Was good to see. Wiikman's little boy had a mind of his own, crazy like his dad that one.

Excellent win and well deserved,we dominated a very good team.
But i am still wondering how the hell Lord got away with that hit on Schmidt, ref could have called boarding, check from behind or possibly check to the head. That could easily and probably should have been a 5+game pen,it makes Cams ejection in Braehead look even more ridiculous now considering Lord didn't even get 2 minutes for it.
Will be interesting to see if Panthers ask for supplementary discipline ?

Congratulations Panthers, you were the only team in it tonight, you guys dominated from start to finish, and if it hadn't been for Bownsythe score would have been higher. Enjoy your night.

For a showcase final the organisation was pretty poor. Incorrect players on the Devils intro screen, no intro screen when we were being introduced. The fiasco of how long overtime was, if there would be penalty shots, not starting the clock all very poor.
Worse though was just leaving the Devils hanging at the end. No man of the match, no runners up presentation. After playing a very good game it seemed it was a second thought to announce them before we were given the trophy.
The officials were very poor, but you can type that in most game threads this season.
A good solid game by Panthers. McDonald is starting to show his quality. He seems to create space when he wins the puck, and time to make the pass. Very good all round.
Lets keep the pressure on in the league now and take the points off Blaze. Steelers will not relish coming to us on Saturday if we are gaining ground on them.

Have to agree Shorty, everyone knocks the playoffs but that was awful in terms of organisation.
On to the game ... What an edge of your seat game that was. Could have gone either way especially with Darnell seemingly not wantin to call anything against Devils. So glad we won because he was disgraceful. Some of the blatant things he wasn't calling for Devils but then calling for us. Absolutely ridiculous.
Bowns kept them in it big time, what a game he had. Totally different to the game on Friday, save after save. Saying that I don't think they challenged Wiikman as much we did them. We deserved to win and we did with none other than that man Mosey. What a player, sign him up.
On to the league ...

It was a strange game in a way. Seemed a very very close one,but look at the shots on goal,48-15 is a hammering really,it just didn't seem like it at the time.
Credit to Bowns and the Devils though,it was a heck of a game from both teams.
