Has he actually played any games for blaze yet? Last time I looked I don't think they had used any of their 2way players.

I thought we had to start a new U20s league this season though to participate? Its taken a little while for me to find this notice from earlier this year ... www.icehockeyuk.co.uk/files/IHUK_U20_National_League_Meeting_May_2_2.pdfIHUK U20 National League Further to my intimation on 1st December 2014 and General Secretary’s intimation of 17th March regarding IHUK U20 National League and the EIHA announcing their change in age groups they have confused Clubs and Players of the reason why IHUK must have an U20 National League up and running during season 2015/16. IIHF in 2013 intimated to IHUK that they did not comply with IIHF Bylaw 402 regarding “Minimum Participation” that we did not have an U20 League currently in operation throughout the UK, and therefore no corresponding online league schedule or statistics. Since 2013 IHUK have been actively attempting to introduce an U20 League to no avail, now the time has come that we must comply without any prevarication. It is not acceptable to IIHF for compliance of Bylaw 402, for a Home Nations Governing Body (HNGB) which are EIHA, SIHA-UK and NIIH or the professional League EIHL to submit an U20 National League for compliance to allow GB U20 to be entered into World Championships, the league must be run and administered by the National Governing Body that is recognised by IIHF which is IHUK. What will happen if we do not comply? IHUK will not be allowed to enter a GB U20 Team in World Championships, a Team that has just won Gold in Estonia in December, IHUK will not be able to bid to bring the U20 World Championships to the UK in December 2015 – this will not only have a profound effect on the GB Development programme it will reduce revenues available to IHUK and its status within IIHF, BOA and UK Sport. IHUK would also have to consider if it continued with the GB U18 development programme and enter the Team into World Championships as there would be a tremendous gap between U18 and the Senior Team. This would also be a disservice to Players and Parents who are members of your Clubs and Associations. GB Teams are currently going through their most successful season since 2009 when four teams won medals, Senior Men – Bronze in Poland, U20 – Silver in Spain, U18 – Gold in Estonia and the Women – Bronze in Italy. Currently we have had the U20 – Gold in Estonia, U18 – Bronze in Estonia and Women – Silver in Dumfries with the Senior Men still competing in Eindhoven, we also have had GB Prospects Team beat the Romanian National Team in Fife, who is now competing in their World Championships in Iceland – Do you want to throw all this away?

If I remember correctly, this came up at an Elite league board meeting post season. The clubs were divided on any proposals. DS put out a few tweets to the effect that Steelers had been prepared to go with one proposal which had been scuppered by others. To be fair to DS, when PT was appointed one reason given was to develop a Steelers U 20 side. Basically all the power rests with the Elite league owners, who will do exactly what they want, unless international governing bodies make their position uncomfortable. The sport seems to be run by a mish mash of bodies which have an uncoordinated relationships with each other. When thoughts turn to central funding, there is usually an outcry from ice hockey, but a sport has to be able to demonstrate that certain procedures are in place. No doubt Someone like Shaggy has the full story.

Good result, gives them a chance at the gold, although you'd expect Poland to get 3 points from 2 games (I'm assuming they'd win a head-to-head with us).

Apologies - missed the Poland result - a 9-3 loss- but still silver to play for, unless Poland come a cropper in their last match.

If France beat Poland in regulation tomorrow, then the 3 of us will be on 8pts each, so what would then be the tie-breaker? I know the IIHF don't always use goal difference. Is it a mini league job? (I think we'd come out of that in 3rd but still.)

Has he actually played any games for blaze yet? Last time I looked I don't think they had used any of their 2way players. Don't think so - pretty sure he's still playing for MK every week, rather than the Blaze Various permutations of the results - but GB have either a bronze or silver. I think: A Poland win will see GB wil Silver and Poland Gold and promotion. A France Win in regulation will see France Promoted and GB win Bronze A France win in OT will see GB claim Silver and Poland promotion.
