Not forgetting of course that there are many, many 'anti-Panthers' posters on that website, led by O'Neill the Giant. Looks like Lepine 'lost' a fight to Tyson Marsh by falling over on a discarded glove! Joke website but I get the point you're making and Lepine clearly didn't lose all (or most) of his fights in his last year here. so he won 6 He won more than he lost definitely - only Colt King and Benn Olson had his number during his time in the EIHL. Anyway, not wanting to turn the Rumours page into 'Drop Your Gloves' version 2, Lepine was also very effective by not even fighting. Often a stare or a 'word' or even his presence on the ice was enough. His importance to the Grand Slam team shouldn't be under-estimated. His arrival followed by that of Kelsey Wilson, turned us from possible contenders to champions.

I'd imagine overall Lepine didn't lose many fights in the entire 3 years he was here. Colt King, yes he lost that one, but any of the others you can make a case for him winning I think (I'd like to point out that I haven't re-watched any of his fights and that last bit might be totally inaccurate, but my point is, I can't actually remember Lepine ever being dominated in a fight, other than King, in fact I seem to think it was quite the opposite)

We signed Henley when Lepine left and this was seen by many as an upgrade. Unfortunately Henley, despite his years of experience, had no discipline and fought to satisfy his own needs and not the needs of the team. He was a liability. Lepine also became an all-round better player during his time over here and seems to be a genuine AHL quality d-man now. I'd love to see him back but it's not going to happen, certainly not this season anyway. I'll carry on banging the drum to get Jon Landry here instead

Couldn't agree more. Lepine was exactly what was required. Stood up for his team mates when neccessary but stayed within the rules. Henley started off perfectly but something happened November time & he lost the plot for the rest of that season.

For some reason you seem obsessed with who is the 'best' fighter which is almost completely irrelevant. The cleverest fighter/enforcer is far more important. Just because someones fighter can beat someone up or has done at some point in the past you think the other teams skaters aren't wary of him?? Of course they are.

Every time I look at this thread I expect to see a rumour about a potential signing.....
A while ago there was a suggestion we had signed Peckham's replacement, but no further news since. Anyone heard anything?

Spot on, fighting purely shows you aren't willing to be pushed around and will stand up for what you think is right (or wrong) which happens in a game. Do you really think Ollie Betteridge fancied his chances against a renowned middleweight in Mike Duco, who has fought many times in AHL/NHL. but he stood up for being elbowed high and that takes balls - and i'm sure from the reaction of the players afterwards that he was well respected for doing so too. fighting isnt all about winning - although it hurts less if you do!

As Shorty says, this one's for rumours, can we now get it back on track please. If people want to discuss who we should sign, there's a thread for that, and if you want to discuss fighting, fighters and their merits or otherwise, there's a thread for that too.

Clan is my guess. They are not having the season they should be and the neminder may have put himself in the shop window in the Champions League.

In the star, simmsey is saying plante is out for a month, and they are actively looking for experienced cover.
Regarding the ad, I was wondering if Stewart might have thrown the towel in at blaze. Would be another timed to perfection pick up for steelers.

I think that apart from us (best NM in the league) and Cardiff & Belfast (Brit NM's) you couldn't rule any of the other teams out?
