Benedict is a huge miss for us. Last season when he was injured before the CC final, we played poor and when he returned he gave us a huge boost. Stick Benny, Graham and Higgins on a line and Graham should start putting a few away

I don't think Graham is playing a different role at all. We currently have got the players available to give him what he needs to shine. He's always worked hard.

He needs a new rifle then as he has missed two empty nets from a foot out in the last two games. One cost us against Fife as we would have gone two goals clear, but fortunately last nights howler did not.

I saw Benny on the way out last night. Had the pleasure of a chat with him. He says that he is back skating and that there is a slight chance he will be back next weekend against the Giants.
Would be a huge boost if he did.

Highlights:-
Mitchell's hit on Boxill still looks high to me and avoidable. That's how it looked in real time and that's how it looked on the highlights. Lepine was regularly getting thrown out and/or banned for hits no worse than that. Even before the DPS.

It looks OK to me, the puck's there, it's not a charge, there's obviously a big size difference so he's up on him a bit but I wouldn't really call it a headshot. It just looked like a big hit to me. Shame it's so surprising to see one.
Fair play to Box for jumping up and going for it.
You're right about Lepine, but we all bemoaned those decisions.

Hit's fine. He doesn't leave his feet until after the collision. No complaints. Good on Boxy for dropping them and giving a good account of himself but why should he be doing that?! It's almost like he's looked around to see if there's a response first and then thought "bugger it, if no-one else can be bothered I'll do it myself".
Really hope we've not seen the end of new faces in Nottingham this season.

Seems that the guys on the ice/bench thought it was a bad hit judging by this in the NEP from Robert Farmer:-
Farmer is not afraid to get into scraps and Jonathan Boxill showed he is not averse to dropping the gloves as he got the best of a brawl with Dundee’s John Mitchell after the American dished out a huge, possibly illegal, hit on him. “We’re absolutely proud of Boxy. You have to stand up for yourself and your team-mates,” said Farmer. “Boxy felt that hit was bad, we all did, and he responded.” Not sure who was on the ice at the time but nobody seemed to want to go for Mitchell, so Boxill did it for himself. He got the instigator too which is ridiculous.

I dont get why he got both an additional 2min instigator +10min game misconduct (same for Gongalsky, against Schmidt) does the 2, run similataneously with the 10?

2+10 is the instigator penalty.

My understanding is that the 'Instigator' sits for 17 minutes (2+10 Instigator plus 5 for fighting) and at the start of the penalty, another player sits the 2 minute minor?

I wouldn't mind a confirmation on how that's timed, presumably the 5 and 10 run consecutively, but what about the 2? Does the 5+10 only start once the 2 has expired? If the 2 is cancelled out by a powerplay goal, would the 5+10 then start?

Cheers Nate.
It's a really harsh penalty actually, I know they wanted to stop goonery but still. Could've made it a double minor or something.

Stef would probably be able to confirm but my understanding is that you're right Yotes and the 5 and the 10 run consecutively and start after the 2 has expired. I seem to recall that Gongalsky (sp) sat for all but 3 minutes of the 2nd period. As for the second part of your question (PP goal), not sure? It's a really harsh penalty actually, I know they wanted to stop goonery but still. Could've made it a double minor or something. How many fights don't involve some sort of instigator? Surely, one way or another, there's always one that starts it?
